I redid that HDR to get a better exposure on the clouds:

man, I usually hate HDR, but that one looks pretty sweet. I like how the plane looks normal and the clouds look insane.

Dude, when were you out here and why didn't you let all of us know? Lot of guys out in that area. I'm only 30 mins away from Harper's Ferry...

@ Altspace - yeah the noise bothers me too, but the program I use makes it a bit noisy. No idea how to effectively reduce that without losing oodles of detail...

lol I did not know that. My sisters live in DC so I'm sure I'll be up there again.

if the "lens?" questions was directed at me, I used the canon 55-250IS. it was handheld to boot!

here is a closer up version

it's a pretty decent lens for the money.

Yep I have that one too. :-) Love that lens!

I always post in the local section of the place I am visiting on the off chance I can meet some other Mazda folk. Been able to do it in Hawaii and Montreal Canada so far!

oh yeah, well it was just for thanksgiving, and I was booked up with family stuff, plus we flew, so I didn't have a car... all that adds up to not wanting to complicate a trip by trying to meet up with other people... next time fo sho. I love DC area.

I love the IS feature! this is handheld at 1/6 second:

I shake way too bad to get something like that without IS at that shutter speed.

Try to take the pic at a lower angle. Maybe include some of the horizon. I think it would make a bigger impact.
