Try to take the pic at a lower angle. Maybe include some of the horizon. I think it would make a bigger impact.
I would have, but it was a big nasty brushy hill thing... not the most scenic thing in the world.

I love the IS feature! this is handheld at 1/6 second:
I shake way too bad to get something like that without IS at that shutter speed.
Circa 1991? lol
Nice lighting Funky...
couple from last weekends nature park
saw wet owl, this thing is so small and cute
a pretty large lynx, I was in the cage with him, I thought he was going to eat me once lol
as you can see by this picture it was close, the handler stopped it then because I didnt realize he was about to eat my lens lol I couldnt figure out why I could not focus on it but then quickly realized its nose was nearly touching the lens
then I was in the cage with these two wolves, they didn't seem to bothered thankfully because they were pretty large as well
I'm going to ask santa to get you a real camera!
I hope he delivers.
lol seriously I want to see what you can do with some good equipment! Next time you have a good photo op coming, you should rent a d50 and an L lens and see what you come up with... it would cost you like 2-300 for a weekend probably, but the pictures and experience would be well worth it!
or for double that you could own a DSLR setup... that kinda money for a rental is crazy!
you can't own a DSLR setup worth owning for $4-600. The lowest body I would go for is a D50, and the body alone is like $1000. Heck, I wouldn't even buy a $4-600 lens at this point.

These are excellent dude. I would love to do that at the zoo next year. How did you get in to cage with them? I wonder if the zoo would let me in. hmmmm

Professionals, and people that have taken 20K+ shots are the only ones who will benefit from L glass, so thats not even worth doing until MUCH later (I doubt I ever spend more than $300 for a lens).. its just not worth sticking that kind of money into for me.
