FPS is overrated.

Timing > FPS

I leave my 1D MKII on low burst (3 fps). I've never the need to fire off ~ 9 fps.

a few taken last week at an abandon house outside of town around here....
well not fully abandon, there are currently 2 residents

you do realize the 40D is 10MP vs the 5D MKII 21MP thats a massive difference, and the 1ds mk3 is 7800 vs 2700 dollars is the extra 5k worth 1fps? especially when the MKII has better high iso, the only benefit of the 1ds is the better weather sealing from my point of view

You can find a good used 1ds3 for 5-6k. There's more than the 1fps difference. TTL-AREA-SIR with 45-point CMOS sensor in the 1ds3 vs TTL-SIR-CT, 9 focus points on the 5d2. More white balance control with presets on the 1ds3, more exposure compensation in the 1ds3, better metering, dual storage with CF and SD memory, Dual digic3 processors in the 1ds3 vs 1 in the 5d2 (although it's the digic 4 in the 5d2). You get the point.....

yes I know all of that, what I meant was the only useful feature that I would use is the 1fps ;) and the focus points but otherwise I would never use the rest of it :)

And I would think the metering would be more useful, even though it might not be something you actually "use" so to say.

maybe never seen it, the metering works perfect on my 40D, and it worked perfect on my 5D so I dont know exactly what its going to improve

what difference does it make if its 10mm or 400mm? none really, you can more than take good pics at 4fps or 3 fps its all about timing

I agree that the MKII should have been 5fps instead of 3.9 but I already pre ordered it as soon as it showed up on amazon

the 5D was a great camera, the MKII is going to be even better ;)

Amen

2 big lights, light up this pad, while they look identical, they are totally 2 different color temperatures. White balance adjusted to match.
