Nice pics ! How do you find that lens on the 40D ? Was considering getting that lens !

It's absolutely worth it. I scored a great deal on it (over 30% off).... but even at full price I can see why this lens is such a favorite. Colors on this lens are nicely saturated and this lens is quite sharp (except in the corners, which is expected b/c it is super wide angle). Since getting this lens, I have hardly used my EF-S 17-55. It's smaller than my 17-55 and when I travel, it's nicer to take a more compact lens.

Here are some more samples... taken in RAW but converted straight to JPEG with very minimal post-processing:

I also have the 10-22 and I love it also! its a fun lens to use and the results are always colorful and sharp!

Hey Chopstick, I should scan some of my old photos of Redlands when I lived there back in 86.

nice! i moved here about 4 yrs ago. I work at a company situated at Redlands Blvd and New York St. have you been back recently?

anyone checked out the previews of the new canon 5d coming out yet? camera looks sweet! has movie mode on it too

Don't plan on using the 5d for action shots, but for everything else it should work out pretty good

I guess when I say 'action' refering to the 5d, i think of 200mm-400mm shots, high speed action stuff, baseball, basketball, racing etc.
My thing is why such a slow FPS on a full frame? I see that the buffer is HUGE but my 40D runs at 6+FPS. the 1ds mk3 is running 5fps, 1d at 10fps, etc and so on.

Awesome video quality. I wonder about audio. That one of the reasons I bought my camera is that it takes excellent 800x600 15min. video and audio.

what difference does it make if its 10mm or 400mm? none really, you can more than take good pics at 4fps or 3 fps its all about timing

you do realize the 40D is 10MP vs the 5D MKII 21MP thats a massive difference, and the 1ds mk3 is 7800 vs 2700 dollars is the extra 5k worth 1fps? especially when the MKII has better high iso, the only benefit of the 1ds is the better weather sealing from my point of view

I agree that the MKII should have been 5fps instead of 3.9 but I already pre ordered it as soon as it showed up on amazon

the 5D was a great camera, the MKII is going to be even better ;)

yea i was wondering about the audio too. but you can hookup an external mic!!!!! thats the beauty of it
