Ok..so who edits video and what software? LOL. I have a bunch of footage from a 5D mkII and they're all in MOV 720p

I used to have pinnacle studio 11 for some video projects my dad had me doing. It worked well for standard def video. I am sure the later version supports HD video editing.

hi everyone, Picked up a Nikon D3000 about 2 hours ago :)

I am a complete newb on photography and dslrs, but was so happy with the camera that I took a couple of pictures. they are both straight out of the camera, just adding the border.

I just noticed the border is huge, but too late now... anyways got a lot to learn and a lot of time to put in. I'll accept any comments and criticism and hope for suggestions. Thanks

I'm new to video production and have Vegas Movie Studio 9.0. Want to learn so much more.

mazpro, looking good. Maybe little less on the black borders as it make the photo feel really tight and enclosed.

I searched "video editing software" and found a rating site that ranked a program called Power Director by Cyberlink very highly, so I got a copy and I've been trying it. I'm pretty happy, except for the amount of system resources that it uses. You can do all sorts of things. Search for some videos on youtube or something and check it out. You can make anything from 400x600 to 1080i video.

Hey Funky, I feel your pain with PC, But there is light at the end of the tunnel. I currently use Premiere CS4 for editing. You can "Obtain" CS4 by means im sure we all know. I don't recommend it. Any ways, you can download a trial version from Adobe's web site. If you feel a need to learn another platform, there is a free version of Avid's Media Composer. it is some what limited being its free. But i should get the job u are looking for done.

Try Adobe Premier Elements. It does everything you will need or know to do with video at this point. After some editing you will know better whether you need to step up to the full version of Premier. I have used it and it worked well, but I only used it for standard definition stuff. Not sure how it handles the higher bitrates of HDV. Fine, I'm sure...
