reviving this old thread. Anyone got any suggestions for an electric acoustic under a grand? I want a neck that is as close to a electic guitar feel as possible, cutaway too. Play mostly rock/pop, country and rap...just kidding about the rap.

I was a big time player when I was growing up, went to college and lost it for a while, now I'd like to get back to it.

Guitar Center, Music123 and Musicians Friend are owned by the same company, and although may offer the best price on blowouts and clearance items, leave much to be desired after the sale has been made. Sweetwater has the best customer service by far, with reps that you can actually talk to who are familiar with the product and know what they're talking about. They will also call you back after the purchase to make sure that everything was to your satisfaction. Plus, you can see the actual guitar you're buying on their online gallery. Here you go, buddy. Try http://www.stevesmusic.com/. The store is located in Toronto, so shipping would probably be a lot easier, and not having to deal with any customs problems, if you bought from them.

thanks for the links guys, but what guitar? I'm so out of date. I played an Ovation years back and loved it. I was looking at a Elite model, but there's an AX, LX and a boat load of models I don't know anything about. Then I hear that Ovation was soooo yesterdays news, and stick with Taylor or Takamine. I really don't want this to go over a grand, and I'm not in an area where I can just go play these to find what I like. There's nothing here but cheap Yamaha's and Epiphone and Squires etc.
