Hey,
Well, I am an Electrical Engineer, and I have some experience in the industiral field. I spent my life in Dubai and I was thinking aboyt shifting to the states. SO can anyone help me out?! I want to know what are the requirements to be able to work ?!?! the best place/location in the states for such a job ?! and how to look for one in the states, if I am staying outside !??!
I would really appreciate!!

www.monster.com , I'd let Monster guide you to where the jobs are... it's a pretty good site.

good luck and welcome,

Working on my EE degree right now! Couple of years left so not too bad. Places that I'm looking at are mostly government, and a few of the local places in NM namely Sandia Labs and Intel, they are always hiring people right out of school. But yeah monster for sure.

i heard Intel is a great place to work... they do things a bit differently, in a smart way...

this is a good site... http://www.payscale.com/

One more thing, what is the avergae pay for an engineer per year ?!!

That's pretty general like Doctors. I mean if you designing power plants it's pretty good. On the whole I'd say engineers make a better living than most. I think your problem is going to be that the states won't recognize your degree in engineering so you will most likely have to pay some large fee to Uncle Sam and take some sort of exam to get certified if you want to be paid like an engineer in the states.

You also want to look into what it takes to get over here because it's a lot harder (suposedly) than it used to be for foreign workers. If you are serious about it you should probably visit, talk to some people in your field and see what it would take to get certified. You will get a whole lot more done over here than you will from there. US tends to have an assload of pointless paperwork that will get lost or something and then nobody will tell you. Over here you can hand it to them and say "handle it".

Good luck. There are a lot of people on this website that came to the states from other countries so keep looking.

Thanks dude for the tips.
Well first of all, my degree is certified from the states and ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), and I graduated from AUS(www.aus.edu).
"American University of Sharjah is licensed in the United States by the Department of Education of the State of Delaware. It is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, 215 662 5606)"

So I would appreciate it if someone who is working in the field could help me out on the requirments and things I need to be able to work there !!

Thank u all
