hello from melbourne australia. been watching this thread for a while and got the idea from here. got a 323 sp20 (protege 5) and quested to fit the chargespeed subie lip on the front to a standard sp20/pro5 bumper. took a while to get it moulded to the bumper but the heat gun did a good job for me. hope you guys like my sp20/pro5

I'm really liking the S204 lip after seeing it more. Might have to pick one of those up. I wish the other one didnt have the fins on the sides because I like the look of it more.
i'll try and get a side and front view of it for you guys. i must admit it wasn't the easiest thing putting on but as long as you use a heat gun and apply some pressure to it in the right places it will fit one way or another. i got my dad to help me out with it and yes it does help quite a bit with some else there lol.

jake, do the ends of your lip fit flush against the inside of the bumper, nearest the wheel? or does it stick out past the bumper? It looks like it does sit closer to the wheel in the 1st pic but cant tell for sure.

well, I mounted my chargespeed lip yesterday. theres good and bad about it.
the good: its on there and looks good when viewed straight ahead. lol
the bad: the end of the lip (where the wing things are) is longer than the actual bumper. so the lip sits a little closer to the tire than I'd like. It poses no issues other than it looks lame. lol
No matter how much heat you apply, it will not change the fact that you simply can not alter this lip too much without creating a lot damage. Also, when you heat up the lip, it may fit well in one area, but will be completly distorted in an other. I tried everything to get a better fit. Now that its on there a bit better, I will see what I can do about getting a better fit. TheP5 02 bumper is a bit skinnier at the bottom than the MSP lip so its tougher to fit imo.
Tools I used:
Heat gun. didnt really use it that much at all. lol
phillips head ratcheting style screwdriver. this was a big help.
extra set screws from Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc... the lip comes with only 4 set screws (but 6 holes lol) and I bought 10 more, so I have 14 total. lip feels like its on there pretty good.
tire shine to brighten up the dull lip's finish. lol
I have come to realization that the chargespeed lip just wont fit properly on the 02 bumpers without the MSP lip imo. The MSP lip is a bit bulkier around the bottom giving that extra width needed to accommodate the bigger chargespeed lip, or so it seems.
I spent a good 2 hours working with a heatgun the 1st time, to get it line up the way I like. I found the heatgun did more damage than help. If you do instal this lip, just use very little heat. You only need enough heat to make the lip more flexible, not to melt it into shape. lol
I just heated up the radius bends on the lip so it would be more flexible. But I was also lucky enough to have a super sunny day, so that helped as well.
Im happy and not happy at the same time. lol It looks ok when viewing the lip straight ahead. Its when looking at the profile side that kills it a bit, for me it does anyway.
Heres how I mounted mine: (no install pics sorry)
There are 6 predrilled holes on the lip. What I did to make sure it was centered was measure the distance between the 2 pre driled holes closest to the center of the lip.
Divide that in half and drill a hole there on the lip. Next, measure the distance from the lower portion of the bottom grill. Again, divide that number in half and mark the bumper. This is where you line up the hole you driled earlier in the center with the mark on the bumper. This will help centering the lip. I then drilled more random mounting holes on the lip for extra security. I just dont think 6 set screws is enough. lol
I did jack the car up to get better access. No you can install your 1st set screw using the marks created previously.
When using the set screws, make sure you arent screwing them into wire looms that are already in the bumper. Just put your finger back there to make sure you arent screwing up any wires. You'll see what I mean.
After you install your 1st screw. then its just a matter of swapping back and forth from one side the next, added your mounting screws as you go.
Example: Install the 1st center screw. Then move to the next hole closest to the one you just mounted. Install your next screw securely. Then repeat on the opposite side, till you have reached the radius bends near the side of the bumper. The lip should be looking pretty good by now. Just the sides need attention. This is where you will need the heat gun. The way I did this was to heat the radius portions as mentioned before inside and out. It would help to have someone hold the lip in place, but I did it alone and its not too bad. Just have to heat the lip a little, position lip where you like it, then grab the screw and screwdriver and install quickly before it cools down. Like I said, I was lucky enough to have nice hot day so I had it a bit easier than some people in colder climates.
Saturday I started mouting the lip from the side and worked my way around the other side. Complete fail. lol This is not the way to do it imo. You MUST start out in the center and work your way out. Think of it like a decal....you start in the middle and smooth it out as you work your way around. Sunday after reviewing my mistakes, only took me 45 minutes to install. Im still not completely finished either. I think I might be able to get a little better fit.
I didnt take pics of the install, but I did take a few afterwards.
So this is just a rough idea on how I mounted mine. If you have more to add, or any suggestions I'd like to hear them.

Looks good man. I see what you mean about it fitting the MSP 03.5 lip better. I want one of the flat lips without the winglets/canards on the sides.

Probably more of what it comes with. I would imagine short sheetmetal screws.

no question the bigger MSP lip woks a bit better, but this one's starting to grow on me. lolI used these. 3/4 inch sheet metal screws..a lot of them. lol
look for the ones with the larger base washer type to avoid them slipping through the holes.
