Have any of you notised a very anoying rattle goming from the back seat or your proteges? I think its a flaw in the proteges asembly, there are about 5 or 6 push clips holding the rear deck lid on, and for the 2 outside clips the holes are to big or somthing and the clip rattles around. If any one has this problem I may have a fix I will be going to honda on friday to see if they have any slightly bigger clips that'll work. If you have have this problem with your protege please post I want to see how many ppl have this problem. I talked to Kooldino about it and he said he has the same thing with his mp3. I know could prolly get ghetto and super glue it or duct tape it or somthing(hehe) but I want to do it good and nice. Oh well if any one has any other non-ghetto ideas post 'em! (scratch)

I have the same problem on both the drivers and passengers side. The clips for the child seat anchors on both sides rattle as well, the center one for whatever reason doesn't though.

I used kind of a crappy trick to get rid of them, but it worked, take some thick styrofoam (sp??) and cut it into some small pieces and stick them in the openings and wedge the corners of the deck up. I used part of the head unit packing from the radio i installed in my sis's jeep, but anything similar will work.

hmmm thats a good idea, I know that new cars have foam to protect there front ends doors ect. with adhesive on the back maybe I'll find a new car and steal it (the foam)

can't say I got this noise, this is the 1st I've heard of it. My main problem with this car is still the clunk...as eveyone knows by now.

I can't handle any more noises. The shocks go squeak over bumps, the bushings go clunk, even more so in the rain, my shifter has a small rubbing squeaky noise to it when I shift, and my drivers side seat squeaks too....AHHHHh. And I can't put anything in the ash tray because it causes it to squeak as well. Not the noisiest car I've ever had, but it's close. I think if I was driving a pointiac or neon....I wouldn't even notice most noises, but because this is a MP3 and I love it so much.....I notice EVERYTHING. I'm anal! :)

I had the same issue.
Heres the fix.
First the rear deck secures with some sliding clips in the back not push clips. I put some rolled up trunk liner under it before putting on the deck. Another problem is the rear pillar covers where they touch the rear deck and the fact that again they use some sliding clips. so once more I used some roled up trunkliner. I also used wether stripping foam tape on every edge of all 3 pieces. Each peice has atleast 1 layer of dynamat extream as does the metal in the deck. The middle seat belt has also been removed.

The peice of trunk liner basicly pushes up on the sliding clips to keep them tight. Also glue on the pop clips everywhere. This also helped the center dash radio bezel. Which and how much of this did it I can't say but after the dynamat alone didn't work I snapped and went all out.:)

The large peice of plastic in the back of the car that incorperates the rear speaaker grills and govers the seat belt roles, basicly the panel that covers the rear shelf of the sedans, a P5 doesn't have one they have a pressboard hatch cover instead. The sedans have a metal shelf and the rear deck covers it.

Mine was fine until I had the Sirius Satellite antenna installed on the rear deck - since then - RATTLES!!!

It has been driving me crazy, but I'm going to try some of your ideas.

I'm hearing some great suggestions here...but I really need pics to see what you mean! Take pics!

Mine isnt really a rattle more of a thump when I hit bumps. The dealer ship said I need some clips that I qoute "are on intergallactic back order" IS this the same thing?? Just wondering. ADam
