Im getting a new SMIC but I cant decide between the:

AMS SMIC (15+ WHP)

and the

Circuit Sports SMIC (??? WHP)

What would you guys recommend and why?

--------
Current Mods
------------
ECU Flash
InJen CAI
Apexi 2.5" DP w/ High Flow Cat. & Apexi 2.5" Exhaust System
GReddy Type-S BOV (Recirc. Boost)

attached the sircuit sports reviews... its just a good read if you havent checked it out. I cant imagine there is to much difference between the two.

ya custom is a member on the forums. his smic is a direct swap, and will work with both the stock pipes and hardpipes.

just PM him - CustomMSP - for more info.

drew.

Yes, CustomMSP is one of the coolest, more helpful people you'll meet. If your SMIC isn't perfect, he won't send it out, and he always lets you know whats up. It works will hardpipes and the stock pipes, and is a quick and easy direct replacement that I think everyone should look into if you have no changed out your stock IC. And, he lets you choose if you want a bar and plate or tube and fin core for the same price.

im curious as to how much whp you will gain on a stock car (using CustomMSP's intercooler). Turbohoses claim that their smic adds around 15 whp on a stock msp. I'm torn between the two. does anyone know the pressure drop on customMSP's smic?

I wanna know how much WHP it adds to a STOCK MSP as well....

Although I just have an InJen CAI installed right now...

Anyone know...

9 psi was stock on Jersey EMT's car.

but normal cars get around ~156 whp on stock boost and if u work a ratio out, its a gain of 12.2% so a 12% gain on a 156 you should be looking at 175 whp. But i know that is not very accurat so i'd say you'd be look at at leat 14~17 whp on stock boost.

the SMIC all produce similar results. the thigns u should worry about is the core and price.
i.e. Bar and plate or tube and fin.

Honestly I'd just go with CustomMSP cuz it is cheap with good customer service. What can go wrong.

A SMIC isnt intended to be a bolt on mod to make huge HP numbers expect 5-10 whp from a stock car. Its main purpose is so the car can run consistantly even after being driven for a while. The Pressure drop of CustomsMSP SMIC is 1.1 psi @260hp. http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1280134&postcount=18

Heres a link to some info about CustomMSP SMIC. try reading up on some stuff and then try to figure out what you want to know

And like I said Im almost positive TurboHoses SMIC is sold out ( limited production run) so I dont know what your torn between anyhow

go with the CS smic, I'll vouch for the quality...and as an added bonus being as that I like his so much I'll give ya a discount on our hardpipes if you do end up getting his SMIC...would actually be a great combo...

So it is official that customMSPs SMIC will work with the DSM hardpipes? If so that would be awesome as i like the DSM pipes~

Getting Hard pipes from a performance stand point may not be always be a good thing either.
From Turbo Hoses site
"During our test, we have found that using steel, stainless & aluminized steel not only added a considerable amount of weight to the system, but increased intake temperatures slightly higher than OEM piping on medium length drives"

In a reply to a PM, TurboHoses said that the temp. increase using hardpipes over the stock pipes was 30 deg. as in using their hard pipes increase temp. 30 deg.

on the advantage side using hardpipes should hold boost better
