AME wheels/offset question

Living in snow country, I'm looking to get another set of wheels for my MSP to facilitate changing back and forth between snow tires and summer tires. I have a friend who owns a tire shop and he can get me a good deal on AME wheels. Anybody know anything about them? Their Circlar and Tracer styles look good to me. www.pdkwheels.com

Any idea what the weight is like on them?

Also, if I'm staying with a 17x7 size, how much can I change the offset before it starts to affect my turning and performance? Seems 17x7 with a +55 isn't the easiest thing to find.

They look like good wheels, but they just aren't my thing. If you're going for originality, I guess it's not a bad choice.

You don't need +55...+42 or +45 are probably your best choices.
