Bose system with Nav....

Where the hell is mute, or antenuate, or pause (for CDs)? Do ANY of these controls exist? What am I missing?

I don't have the nav system, but I have a mute button on my steering wheel.

yeah, with the nav system the mute button is replaced by a voice button (for voice-assisted navigation) :(

CXRabbit, I have looked for this as well. But, unfortunately, from everything I can find they do not exist with the nav system. Seems like Mazda would have been smart enough to make it where if you press the voice command button twice quickly that it would mute the CD/stereo but guess not.

I really like my CX-7 but I have noticed a lot of little things missing like this one. Another feature I am surprised they left out was an auto-lock feature once the CX is placed in drive or starts moving. That is only all my other vehicles that cost much less so I was surprised with I realized the CX didn't have it...(shrug)

CX7... I've noticed some of those little things too... I totally forgot to check the auto-lock thing when I test drove, and I do miss it (yup, my cheaper cars have it). I wonder if there's a way the dealer can program that in. I know there's an autolock feature for when you walk away from the car that can be programmed in.

The lack of pause/mute seems so minor but it really does bug me!

Dunno about anyone else, but my "Audio Pilot" doesn't appear to be working properly. It's supposed to raise the volume automatically when you open windows or when cabin noise increases and so far it's failed to do so adequately (or at all that I've noticed). I HAVE made sure it's turned on and have tried with CenterPoint on and off... it just doesn't seem to work. Anyone else notice? I go in this week for my first oil change and am going to mention it (I'm having another problem with the radio lights flickering as well).

My audiopilot doesn't seem to be working either...

I asked my dealer about the autolock feature and they said it was not available. If would be good if you asked your dealer about it as well so we can get second party verification...:)

My audiopilot does not seem to be working either and I plan to ask about this when I take my in for oil change in the next couple of weeks. Let us know what you find out after your service visit...

I don't have the Bose system, but I was puzzled/annoyed by the lack of a pause button for the CD player, until I realized a couple weeks ago that you can just shut it off to "pause". When you turn it back on, it'll start playing from the same spot, same volume, etc. It probably takes a couple seconds longer than if it had an actual pause function (since it spins down/spins back up), but it's better than nothing.

I assume the Bose system would work the same way...

Hasplode...

The bose seems to be the same (with no pause)... and it is annoying. I don't want to constantly be turning my player off and on. Not to mention, the steering wheel controls don't offer an on/off (nor mute, nor pause) so it's not exactly convenient to reach across and turn the player off... at that point, it's just as easy to turn it down.

I find it baffling that there is no pause feature.

Did you see that the new version being released in Japan has an additional button below the audio controls on the steering wheel for mute! Wonder if that is something we could back fit to our CX-7s... Inquiring minds want to know... ;)

On the other hand, I despise this "feature" and am really glad they didn't do it! I agree, though, that it would have been nice for them to offer an "enabled/disabled" choice.
