anybody got any useful info, praises, complaints, facts about the new Alpine radios?

I'm choosing from Pioneer, Eclipse, and Alpine. I like Alpine because it's ipod friendly.

thanks, David

Alpine has the best Ipod interface, Pioneer is the best built and the premier line has thebest warrenty. Eclipse has the best SQ which is largly useless as you are using an ipod so get a pioneer or alpine.

I have a alpine 7995 and love it. My friend is using the 9855 and has no complaints at all. I would deff go w/ alpine.

i like the eclipse, but i dislike the new model look. 8v preouts are only on the top of the line, and you only get a one year warranty now, instead of 3. i was thinking about the alpine 9857. i went to best buy today to play with it some, and alpine stepped up a couple of notches in my book by going user friendly. no more submenu after submenu to try and adjust the bass and treble. oh! has anyone heard of diamond audio?? i hear it's pretty nice

ooohhhh, if i only had a grand to spend! i bet that double din would look quite nice in our dashes!

hey, i've decided on the alpine CDA-9857. it looks to be ipod friendly, AND it has bluetooth ready??? anybody have this upgrade to their alpine HU?? the model number is KCA-100BT. i've tried to read reviews on the web, but cant seem to find any.

Im getting my hands on two iva w200s this week. one for my car (not the mazda) and one for a buddies tibby. The w200 is identical to the d310. The only difference from what i have seen is the interface for the 710 processor.

If im happy with the unit i will probably be selling the d310 to kill the uglyness of dash kits once and for all. Ill let you folks know more about it after i get to play :)

on topic...don't forget about the rotating knob noise that eclipse is notorious for. ( the one in my camaro is driving me batty...hince getting replaced with w200)

I have the Alpine CDA-9835 and it is simply marvelous!!! I am actually moving to a IVA-W200 myself in a month or so and really looking forward to it. I have alpine throughout the car and loving it!!

Here is the setup:

Alpine CDA-9835 HU
Alpine Type-S 6.5"s and 5x7"s
Alpine Type-R 10" Sub
Alpine MRP-M350 Mono Amp
Alpine MRP-F240 4-Chan Amp
Alpine KCA-420i iPod Adapter

I want to make that same jump as well :( Have you had a chance to play with the IVA-W200 yet? Or you, joker? I'm curious to see how well it works--especially in controling the iPod. Major selling point for me. The 9835 blows for iPod integration. Well, it is okay but leaves LOTS to be desired.

Ya, I am not a big fan of the deck control of the ipod on the 9835 myself, but the ipod is all I listen to. Usually I just pull the pod out of the glove box to switch playlists/albums when I want to. As for the the IVA-W200, I haven't had the chance to play with it myself yet. The ipod control is supposed to be better with the full speed control and on screen display, which is the main selling point for me. That, and that it will take up the whole double din so I can get rid of the pocket. Overall the specs look nice, and I can't wait to try it out. I am always pleased with their products.

I didn't think you could do that(?). I'll have to try again...

You have to unplug the ipod from the link in order to be able to do it. I do my playlists so that I don't have to change it very often :)

Oh, right, I do something similar. I unplug my pod and set it songs, random and just hit next until I find something random that I want to listen to.
