ALL Unichip Questions / Problems

The Unichip is mapped for the non-flashed version. That dip is b/c it pulls too much timing where it actually needs timing.

here are the dyno's: 2 runs on low boost and 1 run on high boost, note the perfect a/f ratios:

here is the dyno with my original stock dyno graph plotted over it:

So how do I best fix the dip in power? Help me Sam.

You have the non flashed ECU from the looks of it. You can't fix it with out retuning it. You need to remap the timing map to fix that dip. Your next power mod should be a FMIC, not anything else.

I do have non-flashed, so I guess its down to Chicago for a tune. thanks. FMIC will be next mod, yes.

just so i understand a bit better, why do you say his next mod needs to be a FMIC??

As I understand it my car is making good power, especially after the tune gets done, so fmic OR upgraded smic will be a good place to go. (Other than that I suppose I will get the tiny S pipe replaced too.) After that I'm pretty much set with the car. For your thoughts, would you recomend?

FMIC not SMIC, because to tune the timing map, the intake air charge needs to be cooled effectively for a long period of time. The better the intercooler effectiveness, the more aggressive the timing and more power. Hotter intake air charges are more prone to detonation. Do the FMIC first, then tune it. You will maximize the gains this way.

The first bolt ons should be intake/exhaust/fmic and a tune.

so my car's AC had been acting up for as long as I could remember.... basically the LED light up on level 1 & 4... but not 2 or 3. Thus, I got cold air on the lowest and highest settings only. Pretty F'in weird.

So I figured there must be some type of leak or something... I bring it to my mechanic and everything checks out. Freon or whatever is high and there are no leaks. They come to the conclusion that it's because my car is idling so low. So I figure an ecu reset might do the trick. As I'm about to flick the switch I decide to check out the manual to make sure I've got all the switches set properly. Low and behold... I had the ECU switch set wrong! lol wtf? all this time.... not even sure what that means but after setting it the way unichip suggests... suddenly I no longer have any AC issues and... maybe it's in my head but... the car seems to drive a lot smoother.

If he can do what he says and what I hear I might make the trip. My parents and sister live their and I can kill two birds with one stone.

As long your car is free of problems I can tune it. I've had quite a few people drive here to get tuned. You will be the first to try anything larger than 440s on a Unichip though.

And I also have the Q and I just remembered you dont tune the Q windows based right are you a Unichip reg. tuner if so I can prob. talk to Jack and see if I can get software unless of course you can. I truly believe that the Unichip will work and I am not ready to give up on it with your help.

Thread cleaned up and infractions given. Thanks to Metallic36 for letting me know about it.

Remember guys -- just hit the 'report post' button and I'll get right on whoever's causing the problems.

Unichip, huzzah!

How and why do you have the Q?? All the recent ones I've sold and ordered are still the old DOS version.

Long story had problem with tuner in Conn. wasnt familiar with Unichip and MSP and yet was one of their register tuners, not anymore I think after Jack learned of issues and Tony ended up giving them the Q windows based I quess that Tony thought it would be easier for him which wasnt the case as my motor blew shortly after I got it home ( was a new motor) my fault also I shouldnt have driven it with 13afs and upward of 15-16afs at WOT and for this he had my car for 5 months from a simple two day trip to tune. So now Jack at Unichip is willing to pay for tune from place in Maryland who specializes in Porches TPC Performance which means nothing to me because they are not what I have. Would rather take it to someone like you with experience with this car even if I have to send Q back and get Old Version. I will talk to Jack and see if he can work with you instead of TPC. Pm me with your company info so I can try and set this up if your interested and I hope you can help.

Oh shoot I didnt know you where Crossover I just bought my Supertech stuff and some other stuff from you. All this time and I never put the two together. LOL

Get the old DOS unit and get it custom tuned at the place for free for now. It would not make sense since I do not have the car here.
Better yet get a refund on the Unichip and buy a Haltech and tune it yourself!

What a thing to say in a Unichip Help thread get rid of it, great. So sell it for next to nothing of what I paid and spend 1700 on something else that also has no history funny you where one of many selling Unichip and still are now. So tell me why that is, maybe I missed something.
