Alarm questions....

I have a DEI alarm. Its you standard two button alarm, i believe its a hornet. Anyways the remote died a while back and i to wait for a new battery to come in to stock. The remote still lock and unlocks but the siren doesnt make the beep beep and when i try to get the alarm to go off it doesnt... unless i hold it down and activate the panic feature.

Any ideas?

Does this alarm have the silent or mute feature? You might have triggered it and this is why its not "beeping". Try turning the feature ON or reset it to the factory settings.

Sounds like you put it into valet mode. What's the flashing light inside doing while all of this is happening?

yep, definately sounds like valet mode. DEfault generally speaking, try turning your key to the on position, then hitting disarm, see if that takes care of it. if that doesn't work, consult your owner's manual, or something I'm not familiar wnough with that particular elarm to tell you for sure. might be some combination of flicking your switch back and fourth.

Two ways to take it back out of valet, either open the door, turn on the key, then back off and press your valet button withing 5 seconds and that will take it back out of valet or open the door and press the arm button, then disarm button, then arm button and that should also take it out of valet mode.

^^^ exactly what he said. My wife did this and I asked her if she noticed the big blue glow on her dash.....she said what glow? It will take you about 5 seconds to fix it.

yea it was in some werid postion i had to like turn the car on and off it was kinda stupid. got it fixed though.
