ajkulish's Build Thread #2

thanks for the subs guys haha.

and yep the bov fit with that radiator. but i also swapped for an msp radiator today and the 6 blade fan. got the whole intercooler hooked up too. though for some reason i have a boost leak somewhere that i will have to find tomorrow. and damien, while the bumper is off i am adjusting EVERYTHING to make the headlights and bumper all fit gapless again! ive been making leaps of progress with this car. with the next paycheck ill be buying an ssafc. but a quick question. what is the difference between an ssafc v1 and an ssafc v2?

i think one allows data logging and one does not?

i think that's all. not sure. maybe there's timing involved in one and not the other. good luck!

itd be nice to have v2, but i think ill just settle for whichever. as long as i can load the maps that i have. i have the software and i inspected it and it looks as if it is just mapped out to change fuel amounts based on in/hg and psi. does that mean i need a gm 3 bar map sensor for this? or is it included?

Thank ya sir. I'll be able to toss up some pics if the intercooler tomorrow!

been trying to slowly clean up the engine bay a bit, painted a few pieces lately, and will be redoing the valve cover in fire red metallic. hopefully everyone can see the way the intercooler was routed from these pictures. the bumper is only off so i can fix it and get some primer on it, and maybe some temporary paint before it starts its transition to a new color.

decided on the final color scheme of the car.

add another coat of red to my calipers to make em look nice again.
matte black plastidip on the spokes, and center of my enkeis, with red plastidip on the lip.
metallic silver (sunlight silver probably) with a matte clear on the body.

i know a lot of people dont like the time attack theme wheels, but i am and thats all that really matters. with some anondized red lug nuts on the wheels i think itll all pull together really nicely.

let me know your thoughts!

no you wont need a gm sensor

it has a built in one.

the SSAFC FTC will let you retard timing and alter fuel maps

SSAFC V1 and V2 only let you alter fuels maps.

perfect. i know you happen to have stuff like this all the time, would you happen to have one on hand now?

not right now.... i might have the one from my car for sale in a few months. I have a V2

Pondering standalone since its the last thing i really need for the car. SSAFC is great i just would like to have the ability to advance timing a lil bit down low.

Get rid of the red hose porn, and tape up the non-black wires..that will clean things up nicely with minimal effort..looks good though!

thank you sir. thats my plan too. i also have some real wire insulation. we will see where i take it.

and fatti i cant really wait a couple months lol its hard enough to not boost as it is. lmao but if you feel like speeding up the standalone thing or just go with an aem fic ill send you 220 for the ssafc v2 asap. let me know....

Good deal. Just retaping/looming my harness when I had it out to trim it made a huge difference..

how about this? after :)

i kept the loom, just put it on my coolant overflow hose. all other wires were taped.

I would personally lose the loom all together, unless it is black..but that is just me..do as you please, obviously. The car looks good though!

I like seeing something different, what can I say! lol. Something other than MS6/MS3/MSP..
