AGM Battery required for 2016 CX-9 GT?

Ya, I'm considering the Walmart Everstart Platinum/AGM. 4 yr replacement. Not totally sold on the idea. Bummed about Costco. I used to take a wrench with and take the old battery in with and walk out with the new, install and drive off. Walmart: $140 flooded 3yr (640 CCA) vs $180 AGM 4yr (650 CCA). Now if I did the 24F, the prices are the same but the flooded battery goes up to 710 CCA and the AGM goes up to 750 CCA.

I wouldn’t use 24F because it’s 1¹¹⁄₁₆” longer and the original battery insulator won’t fit. 640/650 CCA on Group 35 battrry is plenty enough for our CX-9 / CX-5, as our battery from factory has only 540 / 550 CCA.

The 24F batteries are usually about 4-5 lbs. heavier than the Group 35.

Yeah, I think I have to agree with you there. My brain keeps defaulting back to the northern Minnesota days.Brrr
