Aggressive fitment anyone?!

That's my old setup to a tee. I never hit a rim. Lot's of tire rubbing tho. I ran 225/45 in front, no issues. 215/45 in the back rubbed if I was driving hard, tho. That's with Illuminas set at full dampening and a decent linear spring (RS*Racing). 17x8 +35 is about as aggressive as you can go on the BJ platform without coilovers, honestly. Or at least sleeves.

Think I can reduce most of the rubbing with more camber than you? You only had -1 I believe and a fender pull. Although your tires look beefier than zachs evo9s(same set up).

I'm looking at some 17x8 +53. I need the hub bored and a 5mm spacer/extended lugs just to clear the strut orr a 15mm bolt on spacer with hub size if the stock studs fit in the rims. Tough.

What wheels? I would opt for the 15mm spacer, personally. Is it a 5x100 bolt pattern on the wheel you're looking at?

Sti bbs' so they are 5x114.3. The hub is 56.1 compared to 67.1. I would run them as is but they hit the strut. I don't think the pockets in the back of the wheels are big enough to fit the stock studs with only a 15 spacer.

You would need extended lugs or the bolt on type spacer with 15mm minimum. That's the rear 8mm for the front.

with extended studs i would do 5 or 10mm to fit. only problem is i would have to always run the spacer. even with my snows. and up here in the artic it is not the best idea.

i believe kauaimp5 (sp.) had 20mm bolt on spacers on the back. 15 is the minimum for bolt on. but then there is the problem with the length of our stock studs and if i fit. the BBS' seem pretty thin.

im not worried about the front as i could do a 20/25mm bolt on spacer on the front and that should definitly clear the stock studs.

anyone know the length of the studs past the brake rotor?

With extended studs you could run an open ended lug nut without the spacer..

the rust up here seises if they are open though. already thought about that but friends have had problems with the rays open ended ones.

would gorilla style lugs have a bit more length than stock?

also you have 16x8's et50. the rim definitly fits the strut correct?

these cars do suck in the back for fitment that isnt insane!

anti-sieze or loc-tite goes on everything on my car. salt gets thrown around up here.

if a 48et fits then i can use a 5mm spacer. i hope it holds.

also i have adjustable rear links and a camber bolt. so i can set them to push out a few more mm to clear.

Alright thanks for the help. I guess this isn't really aggressive now.

200 to bore out the hub. May as well fork it out.

Open end lugs are bad unless you're in cali. Just my .02 Not worth all the grime and salty crap that can build up in there. Might as well just get closed lugs designed for use with extended studs. They are common. I have a couple sets, well actually only 1 set now. Just sold the Traklites.... :D

not saying its a good option, just that its an option. lol all in all, I agree.

Finally got my new tires on this morning and after 8mm spacers all around and extended studs plus the mz6 front rotor difference.
Kumho Ecsta XS 225/40-18 (very square profile huge footprint) on 18x8 +40 rear and +37 front still slammed rubbing only when I accellerate, slow down, or turn LOL!

Soon to be remedied with some zipties on the front fender liner and maybe a little more camber and some more rolled up newpaper all around one more time. Also got on it a bit in 3rd where I can usually light them up easily and they didn't even break traction :)

Pics later

What are the other closed end, extended lug nuts available? The only ones I know of are the Rays ones (that I have) that still scuff like any cheap $40 lugs, and they are now $200.

Shane, you're new setup sounds awesome man. Take some pics of the fitment front and back views.

What kind of wheels do you have again, Gram Lights.. Works? They look great on red paint btw.
I<3 you're mz6 rotors, that will be a future swap for my msp.

I'll get some pics tomorrow still another round to go on my fenders in the morning. But these freaking tires stick like glue...car is a rocket with them!

Wheels are just rotas and they are flaking all around the lugs. May end up blasting them and doing black with red stripe??

Hells yea man you're car is a beast, black with red trim would be perfect. Glad to hear the kuhmos are working out for you. I want to eventually put dunlop star specs on my 8" wide enkeis for the track ;).
