has anyone done it? kinda looks like you could unbolt the switch and maybe mount it somewhere else or extend wires on it? reallly looking into adding a quick release etc on my car and was curious if anyone else had already done it?

If it wasn't illegal to change your srs airbag steering wheel and a tad expensive I'd do it.

Edit: SIKE it's not really expensive

lol idk if its here or not. all the civics have been swapped and other cars never had a prob with anyone being told anything lol. so i guess if i can do it with still having cruise control im all game. ill look into it today i guess

I think if a car has a rebuilt title or something it's okay. I COULD BE WRONG. DON'T QUOTE ME. lol. just make sure to check out your state laws before you get hammered with a big ticket. Best of luck!

lol very true tho. lol ill do that once i get home and can take the time to read

the quick realease is kinda cool but you are gonna have to swap when inspection time comes around. you probably gonna have to drill on the hubadapter.

weird didnt even have to do that on my turbo da with that set up. oh well inspection is not a problem ;) if you know what i mean lol

yeah i had quick release setup but i just couldnt find a steering wheel that felt comfortable. if i am not mistaking i believe you can get a simulator for the srs bag light.

iv been wanting to do this to??? now that i have one seat in my car, well this would finsh it off and a spaco seat and a 4 point harness lol

If you're going aftermarket, make sure to find one you won't mind mashing your face on in the case of a collision.

Or add a racing seat and harness.

yeah if not would suck crashing and hitting a hard ass steering wheel lol

i dont think our steering wheel or any for that matter would feel good if you hit it. air bags dont always go off. ive seen 2 cars that the air bag should have went off but didnt

Agreed. Though stock steering wheels are designed to deflect under impact. I don't know if this is true for aftermarket wheels.

A stock steering wheel in a pontiac vibe will still bust a lip open. Seat belt locks don't always work either...

Sounds like you are speaking from experience?

And when I say they're meant to deflect, yes they probably would bust a lip open, but will not reshape your skull.

no you arent supposed to alter any of your saftey features in your vehicle if you get the wrong cop pulling you over you will get a ticket. Now if your car is going to be tracked or something where its not going to be on the road then its ok. I know people do it all the time but they shouldnt (by law standards). I wanted to do it too but id rather have my face hit an air bag than a wheel. Now the only ones that are exempt from this are the vehicles that didnt come with airbags in their steering wheels

lol we didnt even have airbags on most cars when I was growing up. I ran a stig blomqvist wheel for ever and never really thought about safety. my, how safety has changed.
