the key is in the on position with the engine off correct? If not then it prob wont connect, and if your using a serial to USB, then it probably came with some sort of driver program. Did you install that? If not the computer wont even recognize the cable.

sorry, just jumped on to find the vac. tuning for my brother's msp today for the 440ccs but anyways for the problem of not being able to connect, make sure the cable is not really long, I had that problem, also if it doesn't work with the car on the "on" position, just try turning the car on, like, engine running to connect, if it connects, then turn it back to the "on" position with the car engine off, if that doesn't work then it is something to do with the type of cable you have or maybe you don't have the correct software with it or something that like, maybe a setting on your computer,,

I had explained a while back as to how to change your COM ports for the connection on your computer settings, or something like that, it was a while ago. but just play around with the connect, and making sure your computer is on before you plug in the serial port, stuff like that

edit: well crap, can't find the map I was looking for, I could have sworn that at some point there was a 440cc map in here that tuned in vacuum. I will look more later, better to just start doing tuning on my own for now.. hopefully I can get somewhere with it, I hate tuning the 440cc RX racing injectors on my brother's car

yea but it is a miniature disk or something

ok ive got a problem, i thought the map was ******, but it turns out that my SSAFC is reading 10psi at rest....
not sure how or why, but I even un did the vacuum hose and it didnt change. Do i just need to reset the ECU (disconnect battery)?
I already hit the reset ECU button and it didnt do anything, not sure why its doing this, it was working fine before i uploaded the 440 Map

I fail to see what resetting the ECU would do if the SSAFC is reading wrong. Sounds like you either need to reload a map, or get the AFC repaired

well the ECU was jut sitting there, I dont see how it could have been damaged to read that far off....
so I figured something was stuck in the ECU, resetting it would clear it? idk...

ok im an idiot...would helpt to check the settings on the SSAFC before i think somethings broken lol
it was set to gauge pressure, which im assuming is atmospheric pressure, instead of vacuum/pressure like it should have been. It should work now

dam that had me scratching my head..always check the easiest s*** first lol

lol, ya I was going to suggest that also, I've wondered what the hell was going on when I saw all the numbers and stuff messed up in the fuel map, thought I had somehow loaded a completely wrong map or something.

when I had pmed CustomMSP about the 440cc map he had for vac. he suggested that no one should tune in vac. at least that is what he said for the 440s just because it will change the timing too, not sure if that matters too much to N/A people or anything like that, but just thought I would relay the advise. Also I have seen a few people on here that have the ssafc with N/A but I don't think they posted any maps, would most likely have to either go to the P5 forums and check something, but since I am guessing that you already did that and that is why you are here, then I would say you'll just have to hope for someone to post that has it, I would suggest finding someone with a post on here with a N/A and pm them, but that is just me.

Dont tune in vac? really...hmmmmm maybe thats why my car is running super rich. Well good news is that the car runs now, but anytime im above 20 in HG (or below depending on how you look at it). Pretty much just cruising, the car runs at 10 AFRs, why I have no idea....but I have to lean the map out big time.
