Adjustable Mazda 2 Struts/Shocks

Ok, I also got the install completed over the weekend, I have only put 25 miles on the combo (Eibach springs, Corksport adjustable dampers, Racing beat rear bar) but so far they feel good, I have only tried the softest setting so far for initial testing.

I agree with some previous reviews that the struts feel decent on this setting, maybe even slightly softer than stock struts with the Eibach springs. This could all be placebo effect though since I have not driven close to any limits yet.

When I get a chance to romp on the car a little, I will post back up.

I wonder about stiffer setting and Eibach my self...Try everything and post plz lol

I've got mine set at 8 front and rear (middle setting) with Eibachs. I've got probably 70 miles give or take on them now.

So the ride is good even at mid level, humm, I want these as soon as I can.
This little 2 looks so sweet with a drop, I can see my wife wanting the same set-up on her MZ2...but she will have to wait, my 2 is the test subject.

Thanks for the review, it help me to make a choice on suspension set-up

For you guys who haven't installed yours yet. Remember, left goes on the left and right on the right. Yeah...I messed up... (boom05)

The struts are ok though, the softest setting was very smooth but right now I have them on the firmest setting and it handles great and rides decent too.

If any of you guys run these with a r-compound tire the ride at full stiff can be a little bit rough, just an FYI.

I appreciate all of the reviews everyone has posted up, I have enjoyed driving the shop 2 with the struts installed every time I get in it and I am glad everyone is enjoying them as well. If anyone has any questions on them feel free to post up or PM me.

I'm going to end up getting run over because I'm constantly laying beside the road or in a parking lot adjusting the rear shocks. (lol2) So much fun experimenting with them.

Also, make sure the little Allen wrench head on the side of the rear adjustment knobs is tight. I thought my adjuster was stripped but it was just the tiny little bolt that was loose.

I've finally got mine on! Thanks CS!!!! First impression:Wow. Second impression: These are such a crazy-good upgrade, no Mazda2 owner should be riding on the stock shocks. I got a chance to drive about 15 miles highway with them, and about 12 miles of town driving over a lot of pretty rough Portland streets. I echo the previously posted ride-quality comments. The H&Rs with the CS shocks/struts are MORE comfortable than my Racing Beat springs were with the stock shocks+struts. It doesn't seem possible, but it is. And that's with the firmness right in the middle at a setting of 8. Firm and responsive, but nothing even close to jarring. The dampers are just controlling the ride so well, I'm really shocked at what a stark difference it is. The H&Rs on the stock shocks/struts just felt completely crazy, bouncy and unhinged to me. This setup is downright amazing. The car is totally transformed. If you are thinking about getting these, DEFINITELY go for it.(cabpatch)

I'm glad you like them. The shocks really do make a big improvement over the stock shocks. I am curious how much better they would make a fiesta handle.

Definitely loving them. No doubt that would be an improvement for the Fiesta - I've seen that they have that FRPP kit which is a mild drop with new shocks and springs (for $299!!!!), but they aren't adjustable. I think you can get adjustable if you buy that Ford competition pack they sell which I think is coilovers for around $1300. So will these shocks bolt on to the Fiesta? I know from the FiestaFaction forum that a lot of owners have bought the CS rear torsion bar and really like it, and I'm sure there would be major stokeness if these are a bolt-on option for Fiesta owners. I've seen a lot of people dropped low on H&Rs and some other spring sets, but with no shock upgrades... Get the word out!

I was under the impression that all the 2 stuff is slightly smaller in diameter than the Fiesta (springs anyways). But will bolt-up without issue, I could just have misunderstood.

Just a bit of information.. going stiffer on the shocks adjustment setting doesn't always mean the car will handle better. A general way of setting up the shocks for optimum handling on a FWD car, would be softer on the front, and stiffer on the rear. This will most likely yield a faster setup, but everyone drives different, so you guys can, and quite easily, figure out what works for all of you.

Just thought I'd add my input!

Before you guys start cranking up the rear stiffness... Keep in mind that stiffening up the rear could give you a nice surprise called snap oversteer. Now, since your spring rate and anti sway bar setup is still bias towards front stiffness, this may not be an issue. But ease into it before you start taking your favorite on/off ramp at maximum attack. Lifting off the gas or jabbing the brake mid corner could have catastrophic consequences.

Stunt driving, my favorite!

ESPECIALLY in our cars, jabbing the brakes mid-corner will DEFINITELY cause snap oversteer, if you're not extremely careful.. especially on the street. Good info there Skulls.

I've found the half stiff, full stiff F/R works brilliantly with my current mods. But I was full/full on my coils at first, and have to say I changed at the rec of CRG Racer24... The difference is not subtle. So I concur that this is good advice. Too much delta between the front and rear stiffness could cause issues if you aren't expecting it!

I've been running mine at 6front, 8 rear since Monday or Tuesday. As stated above, it's a lot better having the front a little softer than the rear. My setup is still with Eibachs and a 4pt front lower brace and the rear torsion bar.

Would it make sense to make the driver's side 1 or 2 notches firmer than the passenger side to compensate for the driver's weight or would that be pointless?
