I noticed that Mazda included this activematic transmission in its 2002.5 Protege. (kinda like tiptronic) Are the transmission parts (besides the controllor) indentical to the regular auto tranny? Can they be retrofitted?

As far as I know, the Activematic hasn't come across the ocean, yet. I'm trying to find that out, and I'll post anything I discover.

I would consider switching to sport automatic if the controller is the only difference. Can someone in the US find this out? Right now, Canada doesn't appear to have this option, yet.
