ACR Hoods

Any of you guys have an ACR hood like this one:

My stock hood has some hail damage and a ton of rock chips so I thought I might upgrade.

You mean ACS hood. Yes there are a few members who have these....search for Kooldino, he has one on his banana.

And to the best of my knowledge they are discontinued so I don't know if JCWhitney will be able to get you one. That is ok though as you can buy a brand new one here (for much cheaper)!!!

Right sorry, ACS. I found it for 656.24 shipped so thats a couple hundred less than the CF hoods I've been finding. Plus I don't think carbon fiber would look right on this car since I'm not doing much to it. May just head to the junk yards...

I have a Mid-night blue P5 as well and have been wondering if a CF hood would look good.

personally i think c/f hoods look good on any color expect for black, that is if there are accenting pieces to go along with it, but i just dont think it would work with black.

That's my hood, and yes, I need to sell. I bought a CF ZX2 hood from Xcelerated Concepts, and now this is just sitting in the shed, it's in great condition, and you definitely won't hardly find these anymore.

Yes...to my knowledge they are the only company that offered this style of hood for the Protege. A decent paint job will run you $250-$300 with blending in the fenders and you are still well under the original price of the hood + shipping + paint.

carbon fiber looks good on any color car. i prefer it on black. its a b**** to take care of though. mine was always in the hot florida sun so i had to wax it all the time and it still got faded. you can paint the carbon fiber btw

It faded because of the gel coat used, and lack of UV protection provided by a proper clear coat. This is something we have addressed with our products.
