I made an UH OH, and accidentally loosened the nut on my passenger rear break line and about a tablespoon of fluid spilled out before I could close it...

Will this be a problem? If so, how can I fix?

You'll need to bleed the brake system now. No easy way around it. Sorry.

uhhh is there a how-to on this?! man... today has been just full of surprises.. (sad1)(sad1)

Have you ever bled brakes?

If not,do you have any friends that are car guys?

This is not a job for a person with little experience with cars.

lol I'm the only person I know whose into cars.. I wouldn't call myself inexperienced.. just one who needs a little direction.

I was going to goolge, but i didn't want to assume that the process isn't car specific?

its easy, u have a friend pump it three times, open valve, pedal goes to the floor. close valve release foot. repeat till steady flow of fluid comes out. and dont get the brake fluid on ur paint.

Guys, bleeding your brakes is not hard, it sounds like you're scaring him. Just go to Autozone and get the little $8 brake bleeder kit. It attaches to your bleeder nipple and you can bleed your brakes yourself. Don't forget to keep an eye on your fluid level in the brake fluid reseviour under your hood. All you need is an 8mm wrench, brake fluid, something to keep the system "closed" so air doesn't enter and 20mins. Piece of cake.

Um...that $8 kit is a piece of crap (I've tried to use it twice). Do it the old fashioned way and get a helper.

Oh yeah, it's a total piece of crap. The magnet broke off when I used it the second time, but the hoses, nipple and bottle work and that's all ya need. A helper is ALWAYS the best way to go but if you have to go at it alone, it is possible. There's been many nights I've been working on brakes and no one around to bleed them with me, so I got that cheap bottle and it works great.

i got all yall beat. i have access to an air powered bleeder. i can literally do a brake fluid change in about 5 minutes.
