A Shocking experiance....

My Civic was worse. F'n hair would stand up on end after getting shock.

Most cars do it when new for some reason. Actually, now that I think of it, every winter I put down large rubber mats on the floor, and I don't get shocked at all. Then spring comes around, take the mats out.....ZAP! All over again. As car ages, it goes away some....maybe due to the carpet wearing down?

Just something I've noticed with my Honda's over the years. Even with leather interior.

I've owned a p5 and an mp3.....it happened more in the p5 but i think that was because i had seat covers.....

ha ha ha ha, This has been an entertaining thread.

But in all seriousness there is some good advice in here. In previous cars I have had problems getting shocked but haven't had any in my P5. Perhaps it's because I have leather seats? I wonder if Leather seat covers would help you all out with your static electricity problems?

lol, my keyring is stainless steel so I guess I dont notice any shock, but when I get to work and take of my Northface fleece, you can just hear and feel the static as you take it off, and of course the first thing I have to grab is my locker, so BAM, everyday, Im used to it now.

My Honda is an 89 Accord.. if it did get better with age, when the car was new it would've been blowing holes in people's arms.

Ha LoL I really thought it was just me that gets these bad static attacks. My first two weeks having the car in November I was afraid of leaving the damn car. I swear she didn't want me to leave, maybe she fears being alone with jealous cars in the parking lot.

First time it happened it hurt bad I mean bad!!!, I thought I got burned by something. 2nd time It made me jump a good 4 ft with my arms all dangling above my head. Now when I exit the car I pretty much dash out and hope for the best, it really does sting me. Still hurts too, hopefully I can find something to stop it, maybe I should wear my anti-static wrist bands I use for working on computers, it'll just be a fashion statement:D

Man I thought sticking my fingers by accident at an outlet (long story) was bad, but this car is a b*t*ch!!! but I still lub her:o

I'm telling you, just tap the car with your key before you touch it. Solve all your problems. It's the one thing I've learned from two years of AP Physics in High school and three semesters of advanced physics in college.
