Well you have to take the PS out to even be able to get the AC compressor out & I didn't feel like putting it back in. It's added weight & if I kept the PS, I would have to get a new belt to run 2 pulleys instead of 3. Now I only have 1 belt.SpicyMchaggis said:A/C I can see taking out..but PS? Why? That doesn't even make any sense.
LOL yeah...I love it! Bryan said I should get a custom mani & turbo setup run over there.pdhaudio83 said:hahhaa
that really opens up the engine bay!

not really, for every 100 pounds you drop you only lose.01 off your ET
doesn't sound to logical to me.I only see the point if you only use the car in the strip, and thats it.
and A/C only has a parisitic load when it's engadged.
while you're at it why don't you take 3 lugs off each wheel, ditch your exhaust, dash, seats, spoiler, and carpet!
by the don't turn the wheel with to much force the center off the shaft is made with plastic, and designed to break when in an accident.
to much force will break it.
sorry about that, your rightazian6er said:i think you mean for every 100 you lose .1 not .01 . By your def, if i lost 1000 lbs i would only shave .1 lol....

for starters, I removed my entire AC system with nothing more than a 1/4" socket set and a 3/4" ford AC removal tool. The PS system absolutely CAN stay in the car. Removing it was VERY counterproductive unless you're only planning on drag racing professionally.
ANY pulley whether it's "engaged" or not is a drain on the system. It may not be that much of a drain but it is a drain.
There is a LOT of room in the engine bay with everything removed...hell even with the PS system in place there is a lot of room....
If Linux doesn't want it, you've got dibs.MP3intheSTL said:Seems like a lot of work for nothing in my opinion.![]()
Do you want to sell the A/C compressor.

You're still wrong.
Anytime you have a belt that is having to be spun it's going to require power to spin. If you had removed the belt entirely and done it again you'd see a difference. I have the AC and ps removed from my car right now and it revs like a motorcycle. It's much more sponsive than stock even when the ac is not on and the wheel is not being turned.
A/C & PS run off of the same belt...not sure from your post if you realize that.wicked said:your noticing the gain due to the PS belt being removed, not from the A/C
and by removing the A/C belt the horsepower would be so small a dyno couldn't pick it up.
the dyno was a dyno jet.
you're going on pure theory, not fact.
yeah I know,I was just trying to point out what component has what effect.Black Majik MSP said:A/C & PS run off of the same belt...not sure from your post if you realize that.
