Okay, SO.
I got to dyno my car today at school as a little surprise from our teacher. If any of you have seen ads for UTI, they have their Hot Rod U and Super Street classes, and Im just finishing up Super Street. Since as a class we were ahead of schedule(the class ends tomorrow) he let us pick some personal cars to dyno, and everyone voted I go, and started guessing at the amazing gobs of power this beefy 1.5L could put down.
Of course, I had to sign a waiver, if anything broke, i deal with it. And I had to go through one hell of a checklist to make sure it was fit to be dynoed, which makes sense looking at a ton of the s*** boxes that are in the parking lot, dynos are expensive things.
Unfortunatly, I don't have the graph of it yet, I think I may go to wal*mart and get it scanned or something, but, i managed to pull......
79.16 Horsepower
AND
83.24 Ft/Lbs of Torque
It peaked out at about 5500 and started dropping like a rock off a cliff...i think at 6500 she had maybe 10 or so hp and torque.
My teacher suggested putting the stock airbox back on, he thinks the cone filter I have on was creating too much turbulence in the low end, and hurting power down there. Ill give it a shot this weekend and see if he'll let me dyno it next week even though im not in the class.
All in all, i honestly was impressed. Take into consideration I still have a misfire in cyl 4, but only when cold, and it has about 115,000 miles on her. And the torque was pretty consistent until after 5500.
Figured Id share the fun
If and when I get the graph on my computer I'll post it up
