505 Intake Manifold COMPLETED!

Wow, it's so weird to see a Protege with a sheet metal intake manifold (now that it's all hooked up). Looks kind of funny when compared to the tubular exhaust manifold (contrast in shapes) as well.

That just means you need to get the steedspeed manifold to match it!

looks like my fuel rail won't bolt up,
here is where it bolts to on our intake manifold

here is a crappy representation of what it looks like on

looking at your pictures of your fuel rail bolts the one closet to the head those two bolt holes if you switch them to the outside, that is how it would bolt up the my manifold

here are some shots of what the Probes fuel rail looks like
the bolts are upside down in this photo

the holes facing up is where the fuel injectors go in

is that a built in FMU on the protege fuel rail??

Don't quote me on it, but you'd probably need to switch to a 2001+ FS-DE 2.0L fuel rail in order to run 505zoom's manifold properly. I don't know if that's even possible with your ECU or whatnot, though. Either way, it's being designed for a 2003 2.0L FS-DE--more specifically, the Mazda/Mazdaspeed Protege motor. I don't think 505zoom gave any design consideration to the Probe.. someone who know what they're talking about is free to correct me on any of the above, haha. :)

The Probe fuel rail won't work, sorry about that. Like stated earlier, snag up a stock protege rail, or even better, go for the Perrin protege fuel rail.

I am just waiting for a buddy to get here so we can run over to the hardware store. Need to cap off my EGR, and then she is ready to fire up. Since we're all waiting, here are a few more pics now that everything is all hooked up.

Thanks Ryan. A little more time with it and I'll get it even cleaner, but this will do for now.

I have the solenoids zip-tied underneath the manifold, and yes they are plugged in. Nice and hidden. :)

That thing looks very sick!!! I think you car needs to be rush to the emergency room right away. All i can say is that you better get a video of the way it sounds, b/c since is aluminum you should be able to hear the air that sucking in pretty loud. Hope everything goes fine once is running and i also hope this out numbers all the other manys like the 626 on the dyno. I wish i was there to tap you on your shoulder and tell you how much of a GOOD job you did.

EGR - I will just go ahead and take a informal poll here on this. For mine, I am going to try a resistor to kill the CEL. This has worked on several other cars with no problems. If it doesn't work I will ONLY offer the ACTUAL hookups. But... if I were to get the (~20 cent) resistor to work, who here would want the ACTUAL hookups for roughly 80-90 dollars upcharge?

Price - After everything (including fittings, packaging, boxes, paypal fees, shipping for the USA, etc...), it is looking like I will be able to do it for about 675-700 total if we get 20 people.

I believe that this is the answer to your question. ^

how much is this going to be (shocked)
