48000 miles on my 2014 CX5..

48,000 miles in 2 years time, and you're going to lease your next vehicle?

Flirting with major disaster on wallet in lease fees it sounds...

My lease on the 2014 CX5 is ending this fall also. it is 2014 model but the lease started in 2013. So it will have been 3 years, not 2. I drive only about 30 miles per day and by the time the lease ends the vehicle will have about 27K miles.
On my 2014 CX5, the driver side door creaks also. I will probably lease a Mazda 3 or another CX5. I wish I had a back up cam everyday.

OP was complaining his a/c and heat were either on or off. The auto usually starts with a blast and then ramps to whatever. There is an override though for AC - if you set it to 60, it just puts out max cold the whole time. I'm not sure if there's a heater version of this, but I bet there is if you set it warm enough. I keep mine set to 68 year round and it seems to work pretty well without me ever thinking about it.
I have tha manual dials thay you twist to either blue for cold or red for hot. There is no in between in my car. My new mazda6 has the temp controls of the future!

Well I took delivery of my 2014 cx5 in april 2013 so it's been 3 years, I do drive alot I'm over 3000 over my lease now so I was afraid I would have to pay alot in fines but to my suprize my dealer was so "excited" to get me in my new vehicle they waived the excess mileage fee and bought out the last month of the lease. Now I'm just waiting for them to locate my 2016 mazda6 gt white exterior black interior is hard to find I guss

These were old issues, now fixed at least 2-2.5 years ago. Older cars can be retrofitted via TSB

Nah, my 2015 has all the same problems. I just don't care enough to worry with it. It works fine. It's just par for the course with an econocar, IMO

Yeah, my 2016 has a driver's side mirror that shakes on the highway. Its not terrible, but there are certainly times when all you can see is a car-like shape in the mirror. Haven't complained about it yet with the dealer.

Cool, I figured it may be 3 years, but still over on mileage. Glad they're dropping the excess mileage fee, and I hope they find your new car very soon...enjoy.

1. My mirror vibration was mostly fixed after the 2nd attempt. 1st attempt was wheel alignment which did absolutely nothing. 2nd attempt was to replace the mirror. It now vibrates only a very little bit, which is good enough for me.
2. I had my hood vibration completely fixed after the 2nd attempt by the dealership. It does not visibly vibrate now. The 1st attempt was to add glue/caulk between the hood an its support structure (same as the TSB). That did not do much. 2nd attempt was to replace the cowl. That did it.

4. Door creak can be easily fixed. It is probably the black rubber at the bottom of the door.
5. The noise is not that bad, except on really lousy roads. Better tires will help.
6. Don't care about glovebox. Agree on trunk. Part of the problem is the black interior. Should have been gray.
7. No problem with weak heat/cold. The manual dial is a bit strange, when the AC is off, a click left of the middle point is almost cool and a click to the right is heat. The step between middle and one click right should have been smaller. However, it is not a problem for me.
8. I Agree. 2016s might be better.

"6. No light in glovebox, poor trunk lighting."

Indifferent on the glovebox light... cargo lighting was bad once you filled with cargo.. replaced with LED and use a plug in light in 12V receptacle.

My '15 does not exhibit any of the other issues.... or I do not notice them occurring :-)

Really variable performance from Mazda on "the little things", and I bet 2016 had a "silent change" to fix some of them, such as the hood, etc.

2016 / 24k miles - the only one I can relate to is #6, the rest we don't seem to have an issue with on our vehicle.

I will say though, I recently noticed there is no light in the tailgate either - I was putting in groceries at night and it felt really dark back there. I looked up and was surprised there was no light in the back.

I also had a door lock actuator that started making a lot of noise during lock. They fixed it under warranty and now the other side started making a similar noise during lock. My brother is having the same issue with his 14' Mazda3

The light is on the actual tailgate, not the ceiling of the vehicle where a lot of others are located.

My door locks make noise sometimes. As long as they work, who cares?

As to the hatch area, yes, I DID notice the other night that it was extremely dark back there. I was doing some shooting, and trying to load things up, and ended up finally just removing my WML and using it as a hand-held so I could see. Why Mazda didn't fix this in half a decade, nearly, is beyond me. It's like they don't drive them, they just build them.

Yeah, kinda how I feel at this point with mine making(probably same noise as yours) the noise. I'll mention it when I go in for my first oil change and have the recall fixed done.

I didn't feel like do any advanced wiring so use this to supplement lighting in back via the 12V adapter.

My locks have healed themselves for the most but hear a quack once in a rare while.... never had one fail so not gonna worry about it.

Yeah that noise is common. I had one lock actuator replaced, it would make it every lock/unlock eventually. Every once in awhile I hear it from elsewhere. Our 3 has it too. My guess is there's tight tolerances in the mechanism and some of the material its made from swells, causing a rub.
