I'm having a helluva time trying to find a 4-2-1 header for my P5. I've seen Vibrant 4-2-1's on ebay for half a grand (overpriced if you ask me), but I need something priced like an OBX. Does anyone know where I can get a 4-2-1 on the cheap?

Thanks Men,
-Frank

it's not going to be easy. i had a 4-2-1 but it was custom built. i started with a 626/probe header that you can get here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Stai...tegoryZ33631QQihZ004QQitemZ140132458327QQrdZ1

mods needed to the header:

-egr bung relocated for proper fitment
-cut the -1- section of the header to shorten it
-custom mid-pipe (lexus 2.5" ID pipe with O2 bung) with hi-flow cat fabricated
-second O2 sensor wire elongated to fit in bung

not sure how much that would cost you if you went to a shop since my roommate at the time was also my mechanic/fabricator.

damn, that's hot. For the record, I'm FAIRLY certain the AWR ones have been sold out for a while. There may be one or two left. A buddy of mine with an FSP (autocross) protege ordered one, and I'm PRETTY sure he either got the last one they had, or the next to last one. And they told him he was lucky b/c they weren't making any more as they're not racing the protege anymore.

obx now makes a 4-2-1 header for our car I believe. I've seen them on ebay. [/url]

yeah, I bought that header off ebay, and it came as a 4-1. The picture in the post shows, what looks like a New OBX 4-2-1 but no where in the posting does it say it is. I was upset and left negitive feedback for posting an incorrect picture.

so I take it your uphappy with the header?

Vibrant doesn't make the 4-2-1 for the Protege anymore. AWR stopped as well. Genie makes one, but it's mild steel and you have to find a way to convince them to ship to you from Australia.

Otherwise, you're stuck with a 4-1 or a shorty, or getting a custom built 4-2-1 unfortunately.

I have the OBX 4-1 on the car now & got xelderx's Mazda racing 4-2-1 from the FS section few weeks ago. It's gonna end up getting ceramic coated before going on the car because it was wrapped so it's not quite shiny anymore. I think that one is 4130 chrome moly? Gonna need to modify my midpipe or make a new one for it to bolt up. It has the egr & 2 o2 bungs on it already.

Almost ALL ebay Car parts have a little disclaimer by the picture or somewhere in the description that states...Not picture of actual object...They just pull a stock photo and use it for all their parts in that catagory...That's ebay for you..You got what you paid for tho..an OBX header made for the Protege...only comes in 4-1...should have known..
