I just about every time there is a thread about this market segment we get into some kind of arguement.
I like to think of it as lively discussion

i personally would spend an extra grand and get the 328i turbo...flash a tune to it and run 12's all day long!
There is no 328i turbo. There is a 335i twin turbo.
ya that's what i meant...not awake yet.
i corrected my post. thanks
Mercedes C - Class is the bottom line either way it is no shock it didn't win, it is more of a shock they even put it in there. Besides most people the buy them are in the 35-50 range and don't care about speed or handling.
C Class is the bottom line Mercedes Benz I've driven it too, I work for them. They handle ok but again the amount of young people that are buying Mercedes aren't that many. I wouldn't buy one you can get alot more for your money with other makes (like BMW better warranty is a major reason). I would buy other makes that we have but the C Class just doesn't do it for me personally.
Most of the C class drivers that I see here are younger people. The 328i is also BMW's bottomline at the moment. What is Mercedes warranty period? BMW is 5/50K and they have the free maintance for that time period as well.
I'm afraid it is you who's missing the point.
A vetter and 335i are different because ones a sedan and ones a coupe. Ones a pure bred sports car and the others a luxury sporting sedan
Thats why its not fair to say the G8 is better for the price, because you're basing it soley on performance. Those sedans are not performance cars. If i wanted to buy a luxury car i know i'd definitely not choose a Pontiac over any of those, even if it is cheaper.
Thats exactly the point, the only things a 335i and Corvette have in common are 2 doors, RWD, and price. The only thing the G8 and those sedans have in common are 4 doors and RWD.
The G8 is a mid-sized sports sedan, these cars are entry level luxury sport compacts, these are not their performance counter parts. If you wanted to compare performance then you'd use the M, AMG, or V models.
