3" Turbo Back Exhaust ??

Nick (perfworks) has a 3" exhaust for the p5's and MP3's, it should work for yours. It's like $800 or so. Don't have his number off hand, check out the Forced Induction area, his number has been on several posts there. I've seen it, looks sweet and sounds good. I'm getting one with my turbo kit next week. Hope this helps.

yeah, will the exhaust be lighter than the stock? hollow hangers, etc?? just wandering.. its always fun to lose a few pounds.. :)

suttonschinook - the CF version will probably be ~$250-$350US more then the full SS version.

MikeyG_U2 - yes our turbo-back is FULL 3" SS mandrel bent. It exits right after the turbo rather then bolting onto the 3 bolt flange off the cased "down-pipe/neck" piece which is extremely convoluted. The down-pipe will also feature an extra O2 sensor bung for those who have a wide-band O2 sensor, as well it will be ceramic coated in a 1700F+ ceramic coating. Optionally the system will have an interchangeable track-pipe/hi-flow cat section, which you can change out in a couple of mins to go cat-less on the track. We've design the system so that it tucks as close to the body as possible such that it allows the possibility of lowering the car. All of our systems have a really deep rich sound to them. The full out race spec versions sound like SCCA GT2 cars. Our Subaru race spec stuff sounds like WRC cars. And no, it doesn't drone.

SuperSpud - Yes, regardless of which muffler section you choose (SS or CF) both will be lighter then the stock system.

ion. what are the numbers looking like for it so far?

also i heard u guys released a bolt on fmic do you have a link and how much was that?

thanks
Ryan

Any chance for just a 3" cat back exhuast that will bolt up to the stock downpipe?

Ryan - are you referring to dyno #'s or are you referring to price? The full turbo-back w/ hi-flow cat in the SS version will be @ ~$1000US ($1350CAD). The CF rear canister section will be ~ $250-350US more.

As for the FMIC here you go ->

http://www.msprotege.com/vbb225/showthread.php?threadid=21575

There are several spots left to get in @ the pre-sale price of $900US shipped. This is for our stage 1 FMIC upgrade. The stage 2 uses the same piping but a larger core. The piping included is the Turbo->IC, and IC->Throttle body. Optional hard-pipe kit & CAI is also available to replace the stock airbox -> turbo.

ARunto - we'll be offering a "down-pipe" back set-up which starts @ the 3 bolt flange after the turbo and before the cats as well. So called 3" cat-back systems don't really exist unless you modify your rear cat-flange to accept a true 3" flange. The stock system's flanges are just WAY TOO small

ION.. whats up with your website? I went there, but nothing shows up really... is it undersconstruction or what?? clicked on products, and nothing happened... oh well..

back to the turbo back.. you said it is going to have a cat? Im guessing 3" hi flow? thats good.. Im not all about the CEL thing..

also, are you going to make a down pipe as well? to sell seperatly? that would be cool too. b/c I REALLY want the full turbo back, but for different reasons, I dont think I can get it, however, I could get a down pipe and just hook it up to the stock exhaust.... let us/me know

SuperSpud - our website is still being re-vamped. We've recently have many many new parts developed both for our core Subaru line-up as well as Porsche etc. With the addition of Mazda stuff, we decided to just take the site down temporarily until we could update everything. Hence the "under construction" comment @ the top of the main page.

Yes the turbo-back is going to come standard w/ a 3" hi-flow cat. Optionally a track-pipe can be purchased to swap in and out so that you can go cat-less @ the track.

Yes the turbo-back includes the down-pipe. However we won't be making the down-pipe available separately as our downpipe will be 3" and much too big for any of the stock exhaust components. We don't want to compromise performance, and hence will not be shrinking the piping diameter to bolt-up to stock parts (this is against our philosphy).

yeah dyno numbers is what im refering too.

so both the stage 1 and stage two come with the hard piping?

Ryan - the Stage 1 & stage 2 FMIC's don't include the stock-airbox to turbo pipe, this is optional for both. We did this b/c some may want to use a CAI or their stock plastic piping as well.

As for dyno #'s, we're shooting for ~20whp @ the stock boost levels for the turbo-back (this is w/ the hi-flow cat in place). Ofcourse when it comes to something like a turbo-back, it's the potential power you can gain when you increase boost that's most important. Not to mention, with our turbo-back, your turbo lag is decrease substantially.

I am going to be going with the JIC cat-back...will you be making just the downpipe available as well?? I want the full thing, from the turbo to the cats. Could I get a price if it's available?

Ryan - no probs

2K3 Mazdaspeed - yes that will be available, however you may have to modify the JIC to fit our set-up. Since the JIC is ment to be bolt-on to your stock cat, it's much too small at the flange.

What if you use the High-flow cat with teh stock cat-back section? I Want to keep the stock muffler look and sound.

Will the high flow cat match up? How much for these two pieces?

Whats the advantage of going 3" vs 2.5",? Is there really that much of a difference? I've heard with our small turbo that going to a 3" is way to big and we'll lose a lot of low end torque and to just go with a 2.5" exhaust and downpipe and that will be more than enough for our cars?

subaruwrx - we'll be offering a separate hi-flow cat-section to replace the 2 stock cats. This will bolt up to the stock cat-back. The hi-flow cat section on the turbo-back is much to big to bolt onto the stock piping of the cat-back.

MazdaspeedZOOM - actually going 3" will maximize the pressure difference pre/post turbo. This will allow your turbo to spool up even faster.

So, how much will that cost? That sounds good to me. Also, with a downpipe?

I just want to make sure and be very clear because I am interested in the exhaust system. You actually can fit a full 3" pipe right up to exit of the turbo and bolt the sucker up without having any fitment problems. You didn't have to squeeze or shrink down to 2.5 or whatever size then go to 3" asap from the exhaust housing since the turbo sits cocked eyed? Wow! I need to see this, let me know when you have pics. thanks.
