215-40-18 on a P5?

It depends on the offset of your rims. I was running 215/35/18 and rubbing a little before mods to the fender.

ahh ic.. i kinda left out some important info, ill be running eibach pro kit. have gotten wheels yet so i could pick my wheel offfset if need be.

would the 40 series still be ok with the eibachs.

im gonna call this dealer here in town... they have a turbo'd mp3 that they show and race... i noticed its fenders were rolled and im wondering if they have that tool that doe it correctly... just in case..

215/40-18, here. (hi) My car is pretty low, so I think you'll be OK with Eibachs. When buying your wheels, go for a +48 offset. :)

No, no modifications at all. I have JIC coilovers, and you can see in my sig that the P5 is pretty slammed.

It's all about offset. ;)

what offset is it that ur running? and what tires... i know most tires vary even though they are considered the same size...

im assumin
18x7.5
215-40-18
??mm offset
?? tires

hmm i just notice from ur website that ur running +48mm offset...

one thing that i also see is that u have adjustable front camber plates... i wonder if ill have issues since im not running a set of plates...

hmm... interestin

215/40-18 Yoko Parada Spec2
+48mm offset

Hope this helps! (rockon)

EDIT: My camber is at "0", but I've messed around with the height adjustment a little, so I'm really not sure what it is now.

215/40-18's

Dream Merchant,

I have the Eibach Pro Kit on my Pro5 and I am running 215/35/18's and they barely clear.....I have not had any rubbing issues either. With the 40 series tire you may need to roll your fenders.....

My wheel offset is +48 as well

Could be a dumb question but what do the three numbers mean??
First Number...
The Width of your tire.

Second Number...
The Profile (Height) of your tire as a % of the width.

Third Number...
The Rim Size the tire is made for.

Usually when you want to increase the size of the rim, the profile has to come down or you end up with a bigger tire and it will not fit.
EG.

205/50/16 is what the P5 came with...
215/35/18 is what I'm on now. Notice the last two numbers..
The rim size when up by two inches, but the height of the tire went down. The diameter of the tire remained mostly unchanged so the car still performs in acceleration and braking as it did, just because of the profile, there is less sidewall deformation around corners so more of the tire stays on the road...Better lateral traction (Cornering)

Also. The width gets bigger as the profile goes down. So finding a tire that fits is sometimes difficult to calculate. Your best way to shop is on the net with a site that has a tire calculator. They are everywhere..

Did you notice that the tires have a letter as well. Thats the speed rating. The closer the letter is to "Z", the faster the tire is rated for. Z is 245+ MPH. Really not required for a P5.

Z rated tires also wear out faster because they are made for grip and not long term durability.

Later...Brian
