I don't experienced any issue with Torque Steer but I have AWD.

I'm interested in the AWD version, think MT is referring to front wheel drive model in your quote. Weak AC would be a problem in the southern half of US, hopefully Mazda will address this issue.
I found this (An article about the CX9 in Australia):
We tested the CX-9 in two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive form on a grey Melbourne day that brought plenty of rain. While the two-wheel-drive layout should prove adequate for most drivers, it didn't shine on slick and bumpy roads that challenged the car's traction levels. It is easy to induce wheel spin with Mazda's torquey new motor, which easily calls traction control into service to cut power and keep everything tidy. The result is that the front-drive CX-9 is frustrating on slippery surfaces, while the all-wheel-drive model powers on with ease.
Two-wheel-drive customers are also likely to notice a decent dollop of torque steer that tugs at the steering wheel under full throttle, and both models are affected by bump steer that twists the tiller in your hands over imperfections.

So what's the deal with the latest infotainment version? The reboot is fixed but now you can't turn off the Tach? Like the setting is gone? I saw someone else said they can't turn on or off?
I'm still in the old version (I was trying to update before my wife had our baby, but that didn't happen in time, so I'm going to have to wait a bit longer). My Infotainment is worse now. Multiple reboots a day and today for the first time ever, it did it at night on the way back to work. I am able to see it happening now, it's a very very slow fade, the screen starts to loose color and starts to go black from top to bottom.
I have always been a Honda fan. This is the first time I am considering a Mazda because of the looks/features and the price. I am interested in a Grand Touring.
Truecar shows an estimate of $40,200 for the Grand Touring. That is $500 below "factory invoice". I have not even talked to a dealer yet. Truecar just forwarded my info and dealers are going crazy haha. With zero negotiation or interaction with dealers, yesterday one of them sent me a message offering $1300 below invoice. That comes to about $39.5K. I am no particular hurry and will wait at least until the end of this month or maybe even end of the year. My target is $37K OTD and I think I will be able to get it from the looks of things.
Will update further later on.
Good luck with that.
The $1300 below "invoice" price is close to the dealer's actual cost including delayed remuneration for "holdback" and any other factory incentives.
To expect an additional $1.5k below that even before adding tax and all fees is unrealistic unless Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) pumps serious rebates into the deal sometime down the road.
OTD at your target price? Maybe the last heavily-used 2016 demo after the lot is teeming with 2017s.
For what it's worth, I paid slightly above invoice for my GT in June shortly after they were released while others were paying Monroney Sticker price (long-term relationship with the dealership).
Though I could have waited and gotten it for a bit less later on, my trade would have decreased in equivalent value and I would have missed out on the utility and driving pleasure of the new vehicle.
(Considered a new Pilot, but desired features standard on the CX-9 would have driven me to the Elite at nearly $50k out the door ... and NO negotiation below sticker ... with one dealer even asking OVER sticker)!

I believe you can only get such a low price if you get a 2016 demo when the dealers have lot of available 2017 units ready to sell.I have always been a Honda fan. This is the first time I am considering a Mazda because of the looks/features and the price. I am interested in a Grand Touring.

This infotainment system fiasco on new CX-9 really surprises me a bit as the system basically the same as the one in CX-5 which has been out for almost two years without too much issues. Yes, my navigation no longer works for unknown reason left with a compass. But I was fully aware Mazda doesn't offer the best quality and reliability from Japan, and some problems are expected, especially from a brand new model. The system is getting too complicated nowadays and we simply can't expect a 100% bug-free system. But I agree, Mazda really needs to make extra effort to resolve these problems CX-9 owner encountered. The sales figure on new CX-9 so far speaks the story, the new 2nd-gen CX-9 is not very successful! Something needs to be done fast or even selling $1300 below invoice won't save the failure of the new CX-9!Thanks... I swear, I would fire that while engineering department. I've never seen such carelessness. No testing or quality control. This will be the single reason why I will never buy a Mazda again.

SDL, I understand your frustration and I really believe your dealer should simply just replace your entire infotainment system head unit, as your problem definitely is hardware related.
Good luck with that.

Base on sales figure on new CX-9, If you're not too picky on color choice and features, $1,320+ below invoice apparently is doable. Looking at monthly sales figure on new 2nd-gen CX-9 since June this year, they're nowhere near those best monthly sales figures of the 1st-gen CX-9! To me, this is a very poor sales performance for a new model! This means Mazda dealers and Mazda North American Operations are having tremendous pressure to sell more new CX-9's. And you should take advantage of it if you're interested getting one. Thanks for the info. I am gonna try near the end of this month. We will see.
FYI, I anonymously sent an email to a bunch of dealers in my area (4 of them currently) telling them that I am shopping around. I have done one round and gotten down to $39.2K for the GT I am interested (AWD GT). Pretty sure if I start near the end of the month with this as the "start" price, I can chip away further.

Good luck! Keep us updated! When you say "no way near", which year is your reference point? If its 2015, then the numbers are actually better. But if its earlier (for instance 2010) then the numbers are worse. Refer to http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2011/01/mazda-cx-9-sales-figures.html
I firmly believe I can get a better than 1300 below invoice deal (infact one has already offered me $1500 below invoice over email).
If the dealers are quoting me that price over email, I bet they will lower it further down. Of course I am in no particular hurry, so I am going to fish, particularly towards the end of the month. Since they are suffering generally in terms of sales, the odds are pretty high that I can pressure them into going lower with the end of the year approaching as well.
