2013~2016 2016 CX-5 Transmission mechanic recommendations

My first post here.

My wife’s 2016 CX-5 just hit 90k miles. Our dealer mechanic will not service the transmission.

Anyone have a mechanic in the Seattle WA area they have taken their CX-5 to for a service?

Due to having a bad back and my job I can’t do this myself. I really need a place where I can drop it off and walk away and they will do everything.

Thanks for any recommendations.

I've been happy with the service at South Tacoma Mazda. If you're just doing something like a drain and fill you can schedule so that you wait in their lounge.

It's likely that the dealer mechanic simply doesn't want to be liable for any issues after the transmission service, in case something happens to go wrong. I can see them turning people with high mileage away, especially since there is no transmission fluid change interval published in the owner's manual.

I would recommend reaching out to a different local dealer, if possible.

Or a transmission shop if one exists in your area.
If you want a fluid change make sure you/they use the correct fluid.

2016.5 CX-5 GT AWD, here.

I had a specialty transmission shop do my first transmission fluid change, before 90Kmi.

This next time, in a year or two, I'll contact them again to do a full drop of the pan, re-sealing the pan with RTV, change of the filter and fluid. Worth it, for these "old bones", to have a competent shop with a lift and certified transm mechanics to get the job done right. A less-expensive independent shop ought to be capable, assuming you supply the correct filter and fluid.
