2013 vs 2014

I am going to get my new CX5 in a few days form the dealer and I want to make sure it's the 2014 model (and not 2013). What's the best way to do that?

If you are getting the 2.5 liter, the engine should be black, not blue. The 2013 models were all blue (no 2.5 option). Also look at your VIN nnumber. In the US, the eighth number from the right should be an 'E' for 2014, and a 'D' for 2013. Not sure about Romania though.

Look at the 10th digit of the VIN. If its a letter E then it's a 2014.

All of the above, plus, if you don't trust your dealer to tell you what year you are getting maybe you should travel to another dealer. Romania sounds rough.

Dealers do make mistakes.

I know some one who thought he was buying a AWD Kuga, the salesman told him it was.

Only later was it discovered that the car had no rear drive shafts, so he got a refund.

Window sticker will say 2014. Make sure they give it too you after they peel it off so you can make sure the vin matches before you sign.

Maybe I could be wrong, but I think that the 2.5 litres 2014 CX-5 is only available in U.S., not in Europe.

Its definitely sold in Australia but only in AWD I believe.

Are the window up/down swtiches back-lit now? i find that to be the biggest issue w/my 2013 model. all my rear passengers have a hard time unlocking or rolling up/down the windows.

The changes I've noticed between USA 2013 Touring w/Tech and 2014 Touring w/Tech are (other than 2.5L Engine):
1. 2014 has better instrument cluster feature, has a menu with maintence settings, cruise adjustment, volume of beeps, door ajar notification, etc...
2. The arm rest on the doors are vinyl/faux leather, not cloth.
3. Some Radio changes (pandora, etc).
4. Kickdown switch on the accelerator pedal on 2014. I believe this is new on 2014, I'm not sure.

what he said. window sticker and VIN. VIN should match on the sticker and vehicle. sticker will tell you year and options.

My car on order has appeared to have also gained weight, originally the 175 AWD sport nav, manual was quoted at 1620kg with a 75kg driver, now it says 1663kg?
So were has the extra weight come from?
