hey everyone i have just bought a 2010 speed3 and i have put 3300 miles on it. Now sometimes when i back up and turn the wheel sharp i get a cluck from the trans i beleive. i am wondering what kind of lsd is in the car and if anyone else has run into an issue like this in any of the speed3's?

New here. I also just bought a 2010 Speed. The clutch or trans clunks shifting from 2nd to 3rd and sometimes 4th. I hate it. I am thinking of taking it in. It sounds cheap.

yeah when i first got mine i had the same sounds i realized unlike my old protege the speed3 you must push the clutch all of the way down before pulling out of any gear to avoid theat clunk due to the trans being so tight. the clunk i am getting now could also be described as a snap only in reverse and whil cranking the wheels hard right as you release the throttle.

Make sure to let the car warm up adequitely. Don't slam the gears into place when the gearbox is cold. Everything should be ship shape when it's nice and up to operating temp. That's what I feel with mine, it's a little rough cold and gets much better as it gets warmer. I've never had any 'clunking' when turning the wheel like you describe OP.

Mine is not like that. It clunks when shifting warm or cold (50% of the time). first to second, second to third, third to fourth (not as much). It seems like the clutch. It seems to work fine. Should I take it In?

My car only has 1000 miles on it.
