2010 SPEED3 burnt clutch?????!!!!!!

it has like plastic hubcaps when its new, they said the 15 miles was just transport milage so its brand new...
I purchased mine with 2 miles on it. It had been driven at the factory, onto the truck, and then off the truck onto the dealer's lot. I bought it while it was still in the "prep" area. Never test-driven by a customer.

One possibility, but definitely a longshot.

Is it possible that a casting error at the front of the transmission or the back of the engine caused the clutch to be mis-aligned by just millimeters, and instead of the entire face of the disc mating with the entire face of the pressure plate, just a portion of both actually come in contact during the slip phase of the clutch engagement?

Even the slightest mis-match between the two might not manifest itself with bad clutch behavior, but could cause it to fry very quickly.

I would think a fried clutch at 17 miles could only be done with repeated higher-gear launches or very hard acceleration with the clutch semi-engaged... but it could be done...on purpose.

yeah that.s true what blackcherry says that might be on purpose no new car car get a burnt clutch so fast only if it happen to be a factory damage

idk ive had an civic si and it only has manual so i didnt have any problems with it, ofcourse speed3's have different clutch feel and i need to get used to it but i know i was driving with no problems

yeah something weird happened so is the car in the dealer now for the repair?? to see what wa really the cause of it??

Whether the MS3 is different then your civic or not, if you didn't have problems on that it's pretty safe to say this wasn't your doing.

they don't use different wheels to trnsport new cars, especially ones that only have one option for wheels. The tires would not have "stickers" on them from the factory, and if you took the "stickers" off the tires that means the tires have been replaced. So i'm guess they beat the s*** out of it the first 15 or so miles then changed the tires. What tires are they? are they the same ones that are supposed to come on it? and did you take the stickers off of the front tires or front and rear?

Lets clarify a couple of things.... Tell us what "stickers" you peeled off. I have seen protective coverings on the rims themselves that the prep guys peel off. Also, what symptoms were displayed in the clutch? With the clutch pedal out nothing happened, the engine would just rev? Were you able to drive it back into the dealership? Was it stuck in gear and the clutch would not dis-engage to change gears? There are many different things that could have caused this right down to springs or bearings. Need to facts to understand what they are replacing/fixing. And 2k easy, pulling that motor or dropping the front down is time consuming.

its not stickers they have like those plastic hubcaps on top, and all four tires are brand new and orriginal

and did you feel any loss of power before that happens??like if it wa slipping ?
