2009 Wrx 265 Hp

I like hatches and I like the looks of the WRX and Speed3 equally. But, it looks like with the premium pkg, it will push 30 g. About 5 g more than I can afford at this time so the Speed3 is still my choice, and I know I will be happy with the zoom zoom.

I think it's rather funny the people blasting it's look. For someone who hasn't seen either in person, they look a lot alike side by side.....

To each their own. For some folks the new wrx will be a viable choice. Just keep the competition coming, since competition makes for a better product from every auto maker.

Well it's rather plain looking and a lot of us share that opinion. Nothing wrong with that.

I agree, I seriously considered the car before the speed3. It was not the looks that drew me away it was the performance. I will certainly hold out for the new speed3, but I must admit the newest version of the wrx does sound very appealing. Subaru would be stupid to offer this car for more than 27 grand!

Agreed, it was the power and performance. That, plus the pricing up here wasn't great. I got 5G off the price of the MS3, and they wouldn't budge on the price of the WRX. Just not worth it for me.

Of course, now I'm trying to work an Evo X into my budget so maybe money isn't that big an issue :P

LOL, funny thing is I also gave some serious thought to the trying to get an Evo within a few months or maybe even next year, but it would just not be very responsible to do at this time. We'll see how the quarterly bonus treats me. However with all of the options coming out within the speed3s price range, I am probably just going to wait.

i think it look too much like a saab, and thats not a good thing thing. 265 hp aint bad though

The grill, and the deletion of chrome really made the thing look a lot better, and know the power and suspension back it up. I'd buy this over the ralliart now. and would strongly consider it against an MS3 if the pricing doesn't change more than a grand.

I doubt it's going to cost less than about 27k, that doesn't mean it's not worth it but personally If I'm going to spend that I'd rather just save up about 5k more and buy an EVO X GSR. But on a more seriously note, let's just wait and see how this thing stacks up against it's peers now.

yalls' says dat der wrx look ugly, but uh our MS3 aint dat gr8 lookin eder. Egrie?

I tend to agree with your assertion, however the exterior looks of the speed 3 have grown on me as I have owned it a few months now.

It was pretty hard for me to finally go with the speed 3 even after driving it. The stigma of owning a compact, import wagon was brutal for my generation of folks so buying one, no matter how good or fast was a difficult hurdle to get over. However, I am so glad I did look past the type of body, and make the purchase, since it's such a great overall driving machine.

As a former WRX owner I'll say it again, unless they come down on the price they're going to keep losing business to Mazda.

I dreamed of a bug-eye wrx 2002 back when I was buying my first car. I got a Protege5 instead.

Since then, I think the exterior of the wrx has gone downhill. The performance has certainly gotten upgraded though. The handling is not as great as it used to be from what I've read. Still, even the ugly wrx's are pretty sweet cars.
