2009 MS3 GT in White
Hello All,

I'll add some pics to this thread tonight but here's the info:

Bought the car Saturday. (East Brunswick NJ) Build date 8/08.

White
Grand Touring

Price Paid: $23,300

I'll keep all my financing details private, if you have any questions feel free to PM and I can advise/discuss...

Car had 27 miles when I got it and now has 170, and half a tank of gas. Everyone likes it so far and my girl's grandmother said she likes the exhaust. Heh that was the first thing out of her mouth =]

i've only done ~75% throttle and haven't gone past 5,000 rpm yet
hopefully this "babying" will pay off down the road =]

Initial thoughts : OEM HIDs are great, fogs suck (can't turn them on without having the low beam on? err...that's not right....)

So let's hear it, did I get ripped off? did I get a good deal? I think so as edmunds.com has invoice at 22,800...

Congrats!!! The fogs hardly do anything either as far as brightness.

an 09 MS3 GT for 23K ( am assuming before TTL), that sounds pretty good to me. I don't think any USDM cars can come from the factory with the option to have the fogs on without the low beams IIRC. There are ways you can independantly wire up the fogs though.

POST UP SOME PICS!!

Congrats, That sounds like a good deal to me. My MS3 was my first new car as well, build date 2/08 got it 3/27/08.

thanks everyone =]

idk yet about HID fogs mebbe =] i don't like that they turn on and off with high beam - that'll impact HID lifespan

also what's the best way to check the boost i'm making?

cobb access port or teh dashhawk? does the obd2 port have a boost reading? do i have access to it? or do i have to start splicing vacuum lines?

The OBDII port/ECU does have a boost reading- that's how the Dashhawk displays boost/vacuum. So you can use a Dashhawk, or you can get a boost gauge; I'd go electrical instead of mechanical, personally.

FYI, the Dashhawk isn't instantly responsive- if you want immediate readings with a fast refresh, get a boost gauge. Dashhawk displays snapshot boost readings about 4-5 times a second, with a slight delay from real time.

If you haven't modded your forced induction system, your peak boost should be 15-16psi, give or take. I think I read 15.8 somewhere as the supposed stock peak boost level. My Dashhawk tops out around that range, too.

Yah I'm basically curious what it'll spike to because people are saying the stock plastic BPV leaks a bit...

Will the Cobb Access Port display data with a faster refresh rate?

Thanks all!

The DH and the AP are not meant for continuous boost reading and will both be a bit laggy, not to mention its really hard to see your boost curve in relation to your RPM with a digital gauge.

Get a good analog electronic gauge (or a mechanical if you are less picky with looks and needle wiggle). ALL turbo cars should have a boost gauge in them, period!!

congrats on the buy i recently just bought my speed too. dont you just hate this jersey weather right now? my cars not even a week old and has been rained on like 3 days and snowed on once! (bang)

thanks Keys, grats on yours!

lucky me, i'm flying to hawaii on friday, so I'll leave this nasty cold weather behind, too bad i can't take my MS3 with me tho =]
