2009 Mazda 6 DVD Player

Does anyone know of anything with either hacking the DVD player for GPS to play DVD's on the screen and actually make it a DVD video player? I've heard of people doing this with toyota's and nissan etc. and making the dvd players play DVDs.

Just picked up my 6 with NAV last week and the dealer told me there is a way to make them play DVD's they just can't tell me how to do it for legal reasons. They said they are able to tell me where it can be done though so as soon as i hear ill update..........But according to the mazda dealership it is possible!

Heard the same back when I first got the nav in wife's 3. Just haven't found that one piece of info to tell me how.(headbang)

For other makes, it typically requires an interface that plugs into the unit and an aftermarket DVD player can then be tapped in as an "AUX" device. I've seen and read about dozens of mods to Honda NAVI but none of them were able to use the factory NAVI DVD player.
