Been looking into adding cruise control to my 2006 mazda 5, but the only part number I could find for the buttons is:

BN8P-66-4M0

This turns out to be the Mazda 3 part numer which has red illumination instead of green.

Does anyone have the Mazda 5 original part number?

Just ordered a used set of steering wheel buttons.

Can anybody confirm that BN7N66490 is the correct part number for the brake switch?

In addition to my question about the part number: Can someone tell me where the cruise control indicators on the dashboard are located? If I run test mode 26 all dashboard indicators light up, but I don't see any cruise control indicators. ("Cruise main" and "Cruise")

Does this perhaps mean that my car does not have pre-programmed cruise control? If so the buttons and brake switch I bought will be useless whilst somewhere else on the forum I read that all 2006-2009 M5's should have the preprogrammed CC :-(

In the meantime I figured out that in my 2006 M5 the DSC lights are on the spots where the Cruise Control lights are supposed to be. On a Cruise Control equiped car the DSC lights are on a different location.

I reckon this means my car doesn't have the CC pre programmed so I decided to cancel the order for the buttons.

I think the reason that you don't get many replies is that most people on here are from North America - it appears that the Europe has a different model/setup. For instance, I have no idea what a DSC light is and I think all Mazda 5's in the USA came with cruise control.

Europe Technician Training says that there are cruise things in the computer

I'm guessing it's still in there somewhere, as DSC (Dynamic Stability Control). Mazda does have some vehicles in north america that have the DSC/Traction control option - just doesn't look like the NA mazda5 got that option.

Wonder if a European Mazda5 owner can take a picture of the cluster in test mode to see all the lights on - then post it here.

@kw_da: I read multiple posts (mentioned by Typhoonk123456 as well) about users here succesfully adding CC to their M5 which came without it.

Here in the Netherlands CC was optional on the 1.8 M5's and not standard.

DSC = Dynamic Stability Control which basically is traction control. As far as I know this is standard on European models.

@Typhoonk123456: I read on a Mazda 3 forum that in case of the M3 if there are no CC lights in the instrument cluster it can't be added either. I reckon this will be the same for the 5. No going to take the risk trying it.

Regarding the instrument cluster, this is mine, a 2006 1.8 Exclusive Sport from Germany (imported into the Netherlands):

(ignore the dust, I need to clean out the car ;-))
