2003 Demio - Rubbing noise when driving.

Mazda Demio 2003/Automatic
Hi all,

I'm new here and was just wondering if anyone has had the same issue.
I've had my Demio (Mazda 2 elsewhere) for about 2 years now and have had very little trouble with it but recently I've noticed a rubbing noise(that's the only way I can describe it) when driving, particularly on bumpy roads. I've had it seen to and the front shocks have been replaced as well as brakes skimmed etc. It's still making the noise though and seems to be getting worse!

I heard from my mechanic that it may be an engine mount issue but they seemed to be OK.

Would anyone have any suggestions?? It sounds like something is about to fall out!

Appreciate any help at all
Cheers

Sometimes the front swaybar body mounts get a little crud in them and get noisy. You don't need to remove them (as they are near impossible) but loosen the bolts and give them a quick squirt with penetrating fluid (something better than WD) I use Free All myself. See if that helps, if so, get some antiseize or copper brake grease and lube them up with an acid parts brush. The brush will slide into the opening between the bar and bushing ( whence the mounting bolts are loose) and deposit a fair amount of grease in the small opening.

Worked for me with even with the aftermarket poly bushings.
