2003.5 Msp

My friend saw a yellow one with 30 day tags in Newport News,VA I was on the phone with him...had everything we both thoght that it just had the parts....he didnt have time to observe the front or spoiler...i dont know guys i need to ask my friend again if it had a diff spoiler....he knows everything about cars and our car so he would know if he saw one it had the racing harts and the windows were tinted and it had the mazdaspeed decal package. Dont know, later

bluetribal, go with the 2003. the 03.5's don't even come with fog ligts, the front grill is changed, and its a different wing. I would choose the 03.

Yes...... I think the 2003.5's front end is now 'too busy'. I much prefer the 2003. Plus, of course. no fogs on the 3.5s

Well this is why I want the 03.5
-I like the spoiler
-I LUV' the color! (Yellow that is) (Titanium is too familyish for a young guy like myself)
-I luv' the front valance
Only down side is that it doesn't have the huge kick A$$ fog lights
The 03
-I luv the fog lights
-It would be cool having the first round of these cars
-Spoiler is pretty cool but you can get them for the regular MP3's, but I am sure they will sell the 03.5 spoiler for them too.
-The Orange is not as good as it could be, but there are a lot fewer orange cars than yellow ones so that appeals to me.
Bottom line is, if they 03.5's come out in April or May I am waiting. But I don't want to miss out on getting an orange one while waiting to find out! Aghhhhh.

Just saw the 2003 Orange MSP, 2003.5 Titanium & Yellow MSP side-by-side at the Toronto Auto Show. The exterior of the 2003 is way sharper than the other 2. (probably why Mazda chooses to put the Orange one on the platform & the other 2 just on the floor ...)

The front of 2003.5 is less aggressive than the 2003 and the MP3 (or P5 for that matter), and the wing does not look as 'solid' (more like floating on the car). The Titanium is not really silver, more a metallic lilac. The Yellow is not really yellow (like the P5), but a metallic gold with green under tone. These 2 really blended into the P5 & Pro sedan crowd on the floor. I almost missed the Titanium one!

I suppose this is good news for people who are more conservative & favour the Pro sedan look ...

Does anyone have any pictures of the interior of the 2003.5??? Heard there was a New gauge needles, shift knob & boot and pedals?? I got this info from a Mazdaspeed consultant at the local dealer. I live in MN and the auto show prob not going to have it so help me out people aight!!!

lots of pics here of the interior

do a search aight :)

I have yet to see any pics that indicate that the gauge needles are silver.

What the heck is metallic lilac? :)

The reason why i eventually decided to go with the grey is like this

Orange.....only looks good when in a really strong sun light. Otherwise looks very pale and peachy. b**** to keep clean as you see everything on it. Is orange going to be a fad? Am I going to hate it in 2-3 years? Am I going to have troubles selling it because it's orange? , mixed feelings from everyone on whether they like it, most non car people think it's kinda....um....gay? Yeah people stare at it, but a lot of people are laughing too. I LOVE the sparkle effect in this paint!

Yellow. Looks kinda goldish, spelling?, I can't see myself driving yella anyhow. I like the effect in the paint, looks really nice, but the woman doesn't like it all so oh well. It's going to be a b**** to clean as well.

Grey - Looks better in sunlight as well. But, still don't look bad in overcast days. Easy to keep clean, at least compared to other two. Safe color, won't get tired of so fast, everyone here I've shown it too loves it. Can't say the same about the orange car. will look great with tint

noticed I never mentioned anything about fogs/spoilers etc?

Well, it's a lot easier to change that, then it is to change a color. I could change the front bumper/spoiler if I REALLY wanted for under 1000.00 bucks. But I'm not gonna. I'm just tinting the b****, slappin some fogs in it....done.

Basically, I love all 3 cars, and had a b**** of a time deciding as we all know, and it came down to being really nit picky and trying to find some sort of flaws. they are all gorgeous, and I can't see how any one says any of them look like a "normal" protege.

Oh, and I ran into a couple of guys here that just came back from the auto show in TO, and they, not knowing I was looking at the grey one they were like saying...

"Man, they had this grey, steel like color Protege there and it was awesome!"

And I asked about the orange and yellow ones...

" oh yeah they were there too, but who in their right mind would want orange?"

This just seems to be the way "normal" people think. the orange and yella are defintely meant for car guys/gals only.

i couldn't give a rats ass of what people think of my orange car.

That's just me though.

I was there with my g/f and best bud when i bought mine. We all agreed that it's flash, in an obnoxius way. It makes a stmt.

I say to each their own... and if anyone laughs at my orange car, you better be driving something faster than me.

p.s. The grey and black are definitely "sleepers".

My friend, a real sport compact car enthusiast, went the show and told me how the yellow and orange cars looked. I then asked him how the grey car looked. "What grey car? There was a grey car?" He spent 10 minutes there and completely missed it.
Ultimate in stealth I guess!

I don't see how they are hard to keep clean? I have a dark blue truck and the worst thing about it is all the dust and swirl marks! I am never getting a dark car again! But I live in Diego where it doesn't rain too much so weather is not an issue. Silver is usually good but that titanium is a little dark and I think the dust will show up on it as well as swirl marks.

mazda has gone from extreme to another with these cars. Super bright in your face colors to super stealthy colors.

It's all opinion. And like I said I like them all. Heck, if I can't wait until the 2003.5's come out, I might break down and get an orange one too as i do still really like it.

If I see the grey one with the real wheels on it , and it's too dark overall. I'll be going back to orange or yellow as well. If it looks like the Aston's grey...it's mine.

Just another note. I had an accord many years ago, that was called something like Charcoal grey or something like that. Anyhow, it was one of the easiest colors to keep clean. Never seen dust on it ever, and no swirls. Killer is, when she was clean, the car would blend in with the road so much that as you were driving it, you could never see the hood! It aged extremely well, much better then the reds or greens we had, even long after we sold it.

I see yellow p5's and now the orange one everyday, and you can see every spec of dirt that falls on it, and the orange doesn 't look very great dirty. Looks wild clean, but dull dirty.

?

Will the price the same on the 2003.5 or has that been released yet? Also, anyone know the weight of the 2003.5?
