I was going to look at a Blue MP3 today at local honda dealership but when I got there the car had been sold (yupnope) Weak... So, again im lookng for a car. I've always liked the 1999-2000 Si/SiR great engine (compared to the FS-DE), ok looks, great mods. I found a blue Si with the Skunk 2 setup and I was wondering how it would handle compared to the MP3? Would it even be close? Problem with the car is it also has a skunk 2 intake manifold and a short ram intake... So i know its been beaten to hell and back a few times.

Si's don't handle great stock, but aer fun to drive. With just tokico blues and eibachs my friend's SI handles like a beast. I wouldn't worry about the B16 being beat on, it's extremely durable. The Skunk2 manifold isn't going to add alot of power (maybe 5whp?) and the intake...well, just adds noise. Never know untill you drive it. I'd take the SI over an MP3 anyday.

I'd buy the si, I'm looking around for that year of hatch. I love my mazda but I also like hondas a whole lot to, there's just so much aftermarket pieces for honda/acura

the 99-00 Si's are nice cars but they are a dime a dozen. It all depends on what you want Justin.

Si's are cheap/easy to mod but they've been done to death

mp3's are super handlers bone stock and very rare, but the engines are weak as hell.

it's up to you but I'd prefer the mp3....not to mention the fact it's newer.

I dunno, I see Si's all the time....and I know they're real because the GIRLS driving them have stock rims and exhausts and it has the vtec sticker on the side and ther SI badge on the rear deck....why go through the hassle of getting authentic manufacturer quality decals if you're going to make no other mods and you're a female??

anyway. I see them all the time. I've RARELY seen an mp3 on the road...infact I've only seen two...one in Calera at the Taco Bell (kid that works there) and a yellow one in Hoover at (cheeburger cheeburger)...well also Minus'.....but he doesn't count!

I've seen like four in hoover (two blue, a yellow, and a black(did they come in black)) and a few in other places around here. I'm not saying Si's are extremely rare, but they're not nearly as common as, say,.... um.... a civic.....

I'll get an SI. And because I'm a girl, you would think I still have it stock.

I could have a cut-out on my exhaust and keep the full stock appearance.

If I change my hair color or something you might not even recognize me. Maybe I'll go blonde again.

Then just try me after I'm started secretly modding it.

In all honesty, I love the handling on the MP3, and other cars that have had a significant amount of work done on the suspension sometimes still fall short of what I expect from a car now that I have my MP3. There is no reason why you couldn't make adjustments and get a good handling car out of the SI.

I've heard good things about the Skunk2 coilovers but if they aren't installed correctly and adjusted correctly, you won't be too impressed. Get them checked out if you do end up buying it. Did you test drive?

I like the MP3 better imho, and I don't really like the look of the new SIs, so the year range you are talking about for the SI is at least attractive, even though I prefer the MP3.

my "girl" comment was to show to the guys that some girls just buy a car and leave it alone...if they were going to mod it the first thing they'd do would not be full manufacturer decals.

You're a horse of a different color Roni....not every girl is into pulling their own tranny out in the garage rather than shoe shopping.

a 99 si was the best car i owned .. and id go back to it anyday

apperantly not only i liked but also someone else since it got stolen

funny fact my 4.5 years old si was worth more than a brand new p5 so i figured i may as well start fresh

dont know anything about mp3's but i bet it doesnt rev nor spin up anything like the 8-8.3k red line in an si

it really begged to be driven .. it was like .. please step on it .. please downshift .. its like a toy that wants to play more than you do

sorry this just awoke some momories

again dont know much about mp3s but my p5 doesnt rev doesnt like to stay in a gear and just go ... its more like let me finish this sandwich while i change from 2nd to 3rd

your problem is that you bought an automatic p5.....hmm, heavy car + automatic slushbox = less than thrilling stock ride.

An MP3 will ANNIHILATE an Si on any roadcourse big or small.
