1994 RX-7 Show & Go

They're not upgraded twins. They're running non-sequentially, and the entire setup (not to mention the size) are different than the stock setup. Jason @ RX7store.net sells them . . . but if you're gonna run non-sequential (especially with new turbos), save the weight, complexity, HEAT, and $$ and just go for a T-66 or the GT40R (on special now through Chuck @ RotaryExtreme) . . . both are true dual BB turbos, and i know the GT40R is water cooled, not sure about the T-66. Info anyone? That's the one i'm thinking about once my motor ::knocks on wood:: decides it doesn't want to spin anymore

yea you can get a water cooled t66...t66 is too small man, get a t78 or even the big fugger t88(or the equivalent), with a nice sized port you will have no problem spooling it =)

Naw, the T-78 is a POS, and the T-88 is too big w/too slow of a spool. I'm not a big dragger (might as well get an '88 LX 5.0 for about 2k if you want to drag). I want something that can take AutoX, track days, and the street, while still being respectable at the track. Some guys in the big board (www.rx7club.com) are running 12 with stock engine and turbos (and have timeslips to prove it). The other ones that are interesting are the To4 series . . . throw a big hotside on there and they can make some nice juice down low.

I'm waiting to see how Chucks car at RE does with the GT40R. He had the T51R Kai from HKS in there till it blew. He made 5xx to the wheels, but he didn't get full boost until WAY up in the RPMs.

One thing that is nice about the twins setup (except for the complexity, weight, heat, servicability, maintaince, transition period, etc.) is that you have near instant power, so you are faster in many situations that bigger hp competitors. Just food for thought . . . but i still want to go single with a medium sized turbo that spools quick. There's a joke in the supra community about huge turbos: What does a 400 hp supra and a 900 hp supra have in common? A: They both run the same 1/4 mile times. We hit a point where more power isn't necessarily the best solution . . . hence the smaller turbo while spending more money on "other" endevors.

sorry, that came off too harsh. for the money and what new technology gives you, the T-78 doesn't make much sense to buy now. It is a good unit, but compared to the T-88, GT40R, and even the T-66, it's hard to justify the T-78 because other turbos spool faster and with more power. If I had one on, say 3 years ago, i'd find no reason to need to switch it. But if i was gonna throw $$$ down, there are better options for the same money.

Didn't mean to sound like a prick

ha ha no worries just giving you a hard time , we use a t78 in our FD, 440hp @14psi

nice. @ the wheels, or the flywheel?
that was at the rear wheels, we have a few more tricks and it should be back on the dyno with some more PSI

nice, fc boy.

I'm waiting until my engine goes pop before porting/single turbo. i can't justify the cost of rebuilding and porting a perfectly good engine and dumping working turbos just yet . . .
