18x9.5 +25 offset on a lowered speed6? problems?

And what wheel setup are you running? Just wondering lol.

Last i saw, your running the stock wheels with a drop. Thats hardly aggressive enough to be pushing the limits of what is possible.

Well, just saying that all of us MS6 owners know how crazy the fender lip is... so im confused why he keeps saying he wont need it.
I went on to explain why, thas all. :D

You are right, and wrong. I have stock wheels on 15mm spacers, lowered 1.0-1.2 inches. Not low enough to rub fender, but was enough offset for stock fender lip to carve some pretty tire ribbons. Rolled, slight pull, 100% fixed issues. Since i bent another damn wheel, i have been trying to research/follow MS6 fitment projects more as i will be getting coils soon with wider wheels and aggressive offset... i need to find the happy balance as i still track.

aye i never list all my mods, so not many people know my car... list is semi-hidden, lol linked in my cardomain page in my sig.

i kinda want tuning before i do more suspension, but sadly necessity sees other things... ugh i gots teh 6 curse! haha

again idk how you guys think yall can get away with no fender roll with a drop AND wider wheel & more aggressive offset.
it is a MUST, or else you get to feel the consequence of shaving pretty ribbons off your tires.

Fender/Lip roll is the same deal on our car, that IS the roll... the lip in the fender is the problem in the rear cause the lip sticks out so far into the fender well. like nearly 1 full inch! so dont pretend or even think you can get away without doing it... as far as a fender pull probly not, and if highly doubtful you will need a lip pull/flare, since you arent gonna be super stretching or super slammed...

interesting how ur fitment will be when dropped, get that roll now so that once dropped you can see what else is needed.

just to be clear i AM rolling the fenders. the lip pull/flare/thing-where-you-pull-out-the-fender-lip-while-heating-with-a-heat-gun-so-the-paint-won't-crack is what i DON'T want to do...i don't know what the terminology is for that lol i thought it was 'lip pull'.

now i have a new problem: eibach sportlines are long since discontinued and i don't think a 1.5 drop (with an eibach pro-kit) all around will eliminate the gap enough! i've read the numerous threads on lowering options for the speed6 and i can't find sh** that will give me a drop around the 2.0 range...and even then there's always a heated debate over whether or not eibach springs are right for a speed6. coilovers can't come until tax returns (unless i want to drain my savings) and let's face it my car isn't a track car so they'd be wasted on a daily driver.

So that's what they look like on the car. When you were pm'ing me, I see now how you didn't have any problems test-fitting the 9.5/+25 wheels. It's been a while since I've been stock height so I didn't know you'd have that much room. Now all you need to do is buy some coilovers. Like I said, your rears would be almost identical to mine. Here's some incentive (just ignore the sunk fronts).

nver seen your ride GSM6, more pics!! got the fronts more flushy now?

not sure you understand how fender rolls work. A large marjority get fender rolls, BECAUSE of the lip. i believe what you are picturing is fender FLARING, which means the bottom edges/lip of the fenders are slightly pulled outward to create a little outward flare over the wheel/tire. sometimes hellaflush guys do this depending on their offset. A regular fender roll simply consists of bending the interior fender lip upward and away from what would be the outside/top edge of the tire. So it is seperate from a fender PULL, and seperate from the fender/lip FLARE that i just explained.

Now heating is necessary no matter what. Reason being is when you start bending metal, the surrounding metal starts to stretch/bend slightly also. this creates minute movement under the paint which could lead to immediate or long term cracking. Heating allows the paint to become a little pliable so that it can move with the slight metal movement. This will help avoid any future cracks from appearing.

flaring! Yeah THAT'S what I don't want to do...the roll is already coming I just need to find springs within the neighborhood of a 2.0" drop...i know some guys on another forum run eibach sportlines and tein s techs...but those springs are meant for fwd cars and since the ms6 is awd...im wondering what the difference is ?

the difference is the weight in the rear for the rear end

im on megan V6 springs... i wish i kept my new BCs that i never used

oh my bad let me rephrase (since I know about the weight) my question is what is the difference in the actual spring itself ? I'm looking into tein s techs...

If anything, the spring rates would be different to make up for the differences in the weight of the vehicle. I don't think that the S-techs have different spring rates for the speed6 though? I know it's different for the 6i and the 6s though. As far as springs go, the s-techs give the most dramatic drop. get coilovers....

Oh yeah, for those that haven't seen my car before, those are 18x10 +44 in the rear with a 235/40/18 Volk GT-C's. Fronts are 18x8 +43 (+28 when I put spacers) and have a wide 225/40/18.

i know coilovers aren't a waste, and that i should get them, but like i said they're out of my price range at the moment, i'm trying to get myself OUT of debt before the new year. i'm getting springs because i refuse to drive it like an suv...but i'm not ruling coilovers out for next year when i can get them.

the s-techs are to hold me over...and i found a guy selling s-techs. he said he had a pair on his 2006 ms6 which he sold, and bought these for the 2007 ms6 that he never ended up getting so they're new. he says the ride is better than the eibachs (which aren't made for the ms6 but are still used as well) and that the drop is in the 1.5 to 2.0 range which is what i'm looking for.

as a side note...i rubbed in the back for the first time yesterday! f***! i'm ordering the springs soon here and thankfully my fender roll should end that s*** lol.

@gsm6 - your car looks great bradda...one of the best i've seen...real original s***!

Roll your fenders as soon as you possibly can. Last thing you want to do is slice your tires which are already stretched and then have a blow out because your sidewall will pretty much go kaboom... Hah...

Well i was thinkin about going with 19" MMR's but seeing how nice those 18's on there im thinkin i might go with some 18's!

I hope ya do good with the rims ya got bro.. best of luck with the 6 man.. This is my first 6 to.. so were definitly in the same boat! I hope everything works out for ya..

Well a couple clicks here and there and imagine it looks like this in the future:

Rim choice looks fine to me.
