18x9.5 +25 offset on a lowered speed6? problems?

I despise the spokes, they poke further then the rim and that has always been a ruiner for me. (toilet)

other then that the color looks alright and the overall offset is fine.

thanks again for all your input guys.

in a bizarre turn of events i got to test fit my friends 18x9.5 +25 on my car and at stock height they fit and turn fully with no rubbing...but then again this isn't while driving. the bizarre part is i had ordered +38 from my local shop and it came in WITH the set of +25 so after work tomm i get to try the +38. i've been messaging another member on the forum and he says +38 is pushing it since it will be more inside the fender, but if it looks like it can fit without any lip work i'm game. i have no problems with rolling the fenders but the lip roll and possibility of cracking mazda's notoriously thin velocity red mica paint make me shiver.

i'm wondering if spc's adjustable ball joints for the front camber are a purchase i should make at the same time here? that would help with the offset right?

stock height ofc, you will have no issues. ANY amount of lowering with that offset/wheel width WILL give you all sorts of trouble.
and do not think you get can get away with no fender roll, taht lip will GUARANTEED have to be rolled. only way to be worried about cracked paint is if you or any amateur does it.
get it professionally done, or at LEAST by a well experienced roller, they do plenty of fender HEATING to keep the paint pliable enough to keep from cracking.
mine wasnt even rolled, mine was hammered, but he was so skilled it came out smooth and no cracking...

and yes i would recommend the SPC ball joints for the fronts, would help with camber adjustment as you need it for this fitment project.

@arallius- lol i know man i gotta get the windows tinted or something hahahha

@batou079 - oh no i plan on rolling the fenders anyways...it's the lip roll i fear :/ and you think that even with a minor drop to get rid of that gap i'd have multiple issues? ...i don't know anywhere in socal that does professional fender pulling...like i said i'm not part of the 'hellaflush' scene so i have no connections..the paint chipping is my only concern...if i could get someone to do it for a case of beer that did it o other cars id be game...anybody know anyone in socal ?

Damn that thing is high as ****!!! lol

Im not really a fan either. I dont mind the color (i would of gone with a bronze) but i never really liked those spokes. They just dont look right, but if you like it, more power to you.

Im going to have to hate for the time being. Your rockin an offroad vehicle right now. Lower that thing and FAST before people point and laugh. lol after a lower, im sure it will look better.

I actually was looking at these wheels about 6 months ago, don't take this the wrong way but im glad I went a different direction now after seeing your pics.
I'll await some after drop pics before officially hating though.

yeah the lowering springs are coming the week after thanksgiving...i'm thinking h&r's just enough to close that gap...

and btw i think the 225 stretch is what's ruining it :/ those toyo proxes are like new and i didn't want to waste them ! maybe i'll join a stance forum or find someone local to buy them for a good price, then i can upgrade to some 245s. the 'hellaflush' tire guy that installed my rims says i should be able to get the drop in and some 245s on without a lip pull...IF the car isn't too low...

i like the 225's, i like the fitment, i just dont like the wheels...the whole spokes poking farther then the lip is what kills it
buy some full coils, and slam it on the tire, should look sweeeeet

MMHMM!!!

After seeing that im going with the Work XD9s 18x8 with 28 or the 35 offset I think it will line up nice with the fender. I dont want any poke really.

The only other option is 18x8.5 Enkei rpf1s with I believe a 38 offset.

I like the Xd9s because they actually have a lip even the 18x8s.. It has 37mm lip and You can get them in a nice bronze color :).. I dont like the gold wheels if thats the color on his but to each his own.

I do like the concave look just not the Poke

These are the 18x8 but the ET is 48.. I think the 18x8 with the 28 ET would look good. Thats not a bad lip for only 18x8

man wqhen the time come for me to get wheels im gonna go nuts cause i want a somewhat convex looking rim with a some what flush setting. w/ possible space help lolz. i just want a REALLY aggressive stance w/o doing much fender work, i dont wanna **** with camber function/form.

yeah i don't want to do too much fender work either. the +38s here poke slightly so i dodged the bullet on a lip pull but i'm still doing a slight roll. i'm going with eibach sportlines with a 2.0r and 1.5f drop. coilovers aren't necessary since this isn't a track car and most likely won't be (i've got other plans for that lol).

anywho it's been stated enough that people here don't like my rims because of the spokes and the poke...so if you want concave and flush this is def. the place to talk about it lol.

ewwww 2.0 in the rear and 1.5 in the front? You need the opposite. 2.0 in the front and 1.5 in the rear. front end higher than the rear? nasty

again idk how you guys think yall can get away with no fender roll with a drop AND wider wheel & more aggressive offset.
it is a MUST, or else you get to feel the consequence of shaving pretty ribbons off your tires.

Fender/Lip roll is the same deal on our car, that IS the roll... the lip in the fender is the problem in the rear cause the lip sticks out so far into the fender well. like nearly 1 full inch! so dont pretend or even think you can get away without doing it... as far as a fender pull probly not, and if highly doubtful you will need a lip pull/flare, since you arent gonna be super stretching or super slammed...

interesting how ur fitment will be when dropped, get that roll now so that once dropped you can see what else is needed.

And what wheel setup are you running? Just wondering lol.

Last i saw, your running the stock wheels with a drop. Thats hardly aggressive enough to be pushing the limits of what is possible.

lordy i love that picture!! crispy subject focus... what apature/exposure/ISO?
