I want buy some new wheel for my 07 mazda gt hatch and i find some realy nice. I was wondering what is the wide's i can go with. Can i go with some 9.5

Yes, but not w/o fender mods... lots of 'em.

Why in the world would you want to go that wide on a car w/160hp on a good day? All that weight (and road friction from wider tires) will just slow you down and decrease fuel mileage.

I have 7" XXR 518's. I love them, but yeah I wouldn't buy 8.5 inch rims, thats overkill. The reason I bought these was because they weight very little for the price, but the 18.5's must weight at least 3 pounds more! Just go with the 7" rims, I have 225/45/17s on them and it handles like a dream. Check out my Profile/garage if you want to see them.
