16" wheels,

Bikes?

Hey Josh what do you ride, I noticed the rack. I have:

2006 Giant Trance built w/CrossMax SL, Fox Float 130RLC and XO etc.
2007 Giant Glory8
2006 Specialized Roubaix Expert
2007 Haro Mary XC 29er on order
2005 Electra Jeremy 3speed cruiser
2004 Planet-X Pitbull custom build.

I went to a hitch mount rack after my paint job.

Crap you have a lot of bikes. All I have is a 2005 GT Zaskar Expert. I see you're jumping on the 29er bandwagon--nice.

what you are saying about the falkens is not true. I worked in the tire industry for 4 years and I can say that the Falkens have a smaller section width than competing brands of the same size.

It depends how wide of a tire you are trying to stuff on a rim. If you put a 205/40R17 falken on a 17x7" rim it would look like this :

Falken / \

vs

Yokohama | |

If you put a 215 on 6.5" wide rim you will get something like what is going on with your car JoshP5

What is your setup? Rim width and tire size?

I'm having trouble beleiving your offset, I wonder if someone sold you the wrong thing? The recomended range is 42-50 the guy just told me when I ordered my WedsSports TC005 's. (but like I said earlier I have Konig w/40mm)
Yeah baby I ordered them...

Found a Canadian vendor so it saved me a bunch.

Haha! I own the shop. BTW, nice bike, hardtail holdout?
I thought I'd try a 29er and see what it's all about, gotta have an opinion to sell it right.

hey,

JoshP5 - it must be the 50 that is making them stand so straight, I know with the lower profiles they tuck in towards the tread face making them perfect for lowering.

Those rims should look good, you might run into a bit of a rubbing problem though. You will just have to wait and see.

I run 215/40R17 on a 17x7" +45 and I have never had a problem. It is going to depend on what tire size you end up running. I would recommend a 205 for the wedsports.

Yeah, I still have lots left on my 205/45/16 BFG G-Force Sports.

Josh it may lean in a bit when lowered (if it's just barely touching now) and clear the problem you are having. Lower it first and see....

Believe it--it's all about the tires.

It beats me up but I won't give up the weight!

Nah, lowering doesn't change the arc the wheel swings through when the suspension is doing its thing, so if it rubs now, it'll rub when it's lowered. That's why I'm rolling the fenders--that'll fix it *crosses fingers*.

Trust me you don't feel an extra couple pounds, look at an I Drive XC (if you're GT loyal) or Giant Anthem you'll never look back. The science is proven, shorter lap times and lower heart rates on a FS bike. I've been preaching it for 4-5 seasons and haven't owned a hardtail since 2001 for off road use.

Nice bikes. My Cannondale is older than dirt.
